yes i would play.
.....but would i pay?
now that's a different question.
Are we talking about WoW?
Hmm Zepplins. . . seems the cat is out of the bag there.
Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
I might but this doesn't seem to be very different than other games out there.
That in and of itself is not an issue for me. What would be the issue is what the world is like, what the classes are, the theme of the game, what the races are.
Otherwise it sounds fine. Especially the large open world part.

Just read the list -
If you think it sounds like an interesting MMOG, vote yes.
If this feature list isn't something that would intrigue you, vote no.
I already have my assumptions about how this poll will turn out (assuming proper sample size) based upon the general averages of opinions that I find prevelant on this site.
But it could be suprising.
I said yes, because aren't these the basics we all want from an MMO? I know it's what I want. I can't see any negatives here. I'm sure someone has some, since you can't please everyone or there is always a rebellious person out there who HAS to go against the status quo.
what zepplins?
tons of games have airships/zepplins.
Like Crimson Sky on the original Xbox. Great game... lots of Zepplins...
Sorry but NO.
One basic fundimantal you overlooked.. Class's.
If a Tank / Healer / DPS / Ranged Class is more than just those.. NO, you would just bring the same mess as every other current MMO.
Start with the basic's, Don't try to run before you can walk.
Once each class has its role.. then you can elaborate to the state were in now.
Classes versus skill based is FAR too controvertial of an issue for the purpose of this poll - as are things like FFA PvP and instancing.
Left them out of this list on purpose.
Look at the list and for all the "blanks" try and look beyond the limitations, fill in the gaps with your imagination, but again, based JUST off of this feature list, would you be interesting in playing?
I believe the OP is talking about WoW, as it has everything he mentioned, if not well as info all those things are in wow. The majority of MMO space has played wow at some point and were interested in the feature set. I think if you are trying to bait people, it needs a thicker veil.
You'd be suprised.
I guess I'm trying to see what features are most important to players?
Can't really make a scientific or honest poll for the desireableness for certain features over others, so I'm trying to work with what is available to me on this site.
No, I didnt see anything about pets so i pass. I like Pet Classes
Kind of a limited viewpoint as nothing about classes or skills or characters advancement was listed in the list...
So for your sake, let's say if YOU want a pet class / skill set, the game will have it.
Knowing that, based off the rest of the list, would you be interested?
Yes I would, but will I go back? Maybe when this "hypothetical" game has an expansion where you can play as 12 races and the world blows up.
Sounds like a terrible expansion to a hypothetical game to blow the world up...
Obviously talking about WoW. Its the only game with ALL of those features that I know of...
But to answer your question, yes I would be interested. And I did play it for four years.
all those things, and a few more besides are in WoW, why not just ask if people like WoW or not ?
From the list given, It has alot of positives, from which we see across meny titles, yet personaly the blanks take up a large part of whats missing.
If all the blanks were filled.. dependant on past, preset, future, i'd say yes.
I'll try anything one, Twice if i like it.
I'd probably at least play the trial or something. If it were skill-based, I might even buy it.
There are the kinds of answers I'm looking for.
Keep 'em coming.
Yes as your list lacks any points of conflict.
E.g. nothing about progress modell (lvl based / skill based / gear based ...)
nothing about combat system
nothing about requirements to play ( payment model / hardware requirements / spyware included?)
nothing about graphic style
Pi*1337/100 = 42
Exactly!
I guess what I am trying to do is create a feature list that EVERY successful MMO should have -
One that is free from "conflict" choices like FFA PvP or skills vs. classes or payment models etc.
Why?
So that you could insert YOUR favorite/prefered "conflict" in order to build a "perfect" MMO for you.
As others have already said the feature list is from WoW. I don't know of any other games on the market that more closely matches the entire list of features specified.
I suspect the "experiment" here is to see if people want the features that WoW offers but no longer care about WoW. The hypothesis would be to prove whether or not the next big MMO would just need to be the same game with better graphics.
I literally only had to read the first handful of features to realize this was a WoW thread. Anyway, to answer the poll, no I don't want very many of these features. I want something new and different, whatever that may be.
Edit: I just read the post above me. There is no way I would want every MMO to have this feature list nor would I say even a handful of these would be required to be successful.
Not at all - read above
Also - refer to the highlighted above-
"I want something new and different, whatever that may be."
How the heck are any developers suppose to give us new, interesting, and fun games when we can't even tell them what we want? When we ourselves don't even know what we want?
Just wanting "something different" isn't enough.
We HAVE to be more specific.
