NCsoft and ArenaNet have announced "Guild Wars Beyond," a new on-going campaign focused on key events and characters in the Guild Wars lore which will lay the foundation for Guild Wars 2. The first event to be part of the Guild Wars Beyond campaign is the "War in Kryta" event, which is being kicked off to mark Guild Wars' fifth anniversary. War in Kryta will put players in the middle of a struggle between the oppressive White Mantle zealots and the Shining Blade rebels in order to decide the fate of Kryta.
Guild Wars Beyond will utilize a viral campaign alongside in-game events and content in order to tell the ongoing story. A new set of costumes featuring both the White Mantle and Shining Blade uniforms are also available in at PlayNC Store for $6.99 each or $9.99 as a limited edition double pack. NCsoft and ArenaNet promise that the events of the War in Kryta will have a huge impact on the world of Guild Wars 2.

Within the war, players help the Shining Blade rebels oppose the White Mantle, a militarized cult that rules Kryta, in the hopes of restoring the Krytan monarchy and installing Princess Salma as queen. The legacy of these deeds carries 250 years into the future, where Salma’s descendent Queen Jennah leads the embattled humans in Guild Wars 2. In addition to Salma’s storyline, the War in Kryta also focuses on several key characters that are destined to make history - Gwen, a brooding, beautiful Mesmer, and Lieutenant Keiran Thackeray, a charr-hunting ranger. Gwen and Lt. Thackeray are destined to marry and establish the human city of Ebonhawke, a key location in Guild Wars 2, and their descendent, Logan Thackeray, is one of the iconic characters in Guild Wars 2.

Just a little confused and had a couple questions...
1. Will the War in Kryta event consist of new quests/content or what exactly (other than the costumes)?
2. Will it only be on for a limited time or can it still be enjoyed by players several months from now?
3. How confusing/out of order will the new storyline seem for someone who has not finished all the Prophecies/Eye of the North missions? (currently I'm still in prophecies, just finished the D'Alessio Seaboard mission and got to Divinity Coast...)

You need to have finished Prophecies or Eye of the North to see the changes happening in Kryta.
