After playing many other mmo's, I've decided that none of them can beat the all around enjoyment I get while playing WoW. I realize there are many things that need to be changed such as the "free" epics that Blizzard practically hands out. But all in all WoW is still the best mmo out there compared to all the ones I've tried such as AoC, DDO, FFXI, GW, EVE, and many others. I hope this is the right move, but I guess I can't complain as long as I'm having a little bit of fun.

I completely agree, WoW offers an extremely large amount of content, a massive community, and fun, fluid gameplay/combat. While it can get boring after awhile, its usually because you play so much you just burn out....which is no different from any other MMO. WoW allows me to log in when i want, for how long i want, and have fun either way, and in my opinion that is the most important thing..
Very well put.
Good for you! Glad to hear it! Though, FFXI truly is better. But I have my opinion, and you have yours. So happy happy joy joy.

I will definitely be checking out FFXIV when it drops into stores. It looks amazing. But until then, I'll continue to play WoW.
Its always good to have a back up game to, something you can resub to while waiting for other games to release.
is this your first WoW resubbing?.........awwwww that's so cute.
It's my 3rd... ; ) It always pulls you back in.
I dont think FFxIV will be good. It will be a free mmorpg that you will be able to get on ps3 and on pc. The only reason i see someone playing FF is to play a free mmorpg.

Wife and I resubbed 6 times with the last ending in Jan. of the this year. I loathe raiding and just did not feel like leveling yet another toon or starting over on another server.
FFIV is not going to be free. It will be p2p...
Yea I just resubbed myself in order to play with my younger brother who just discovered WoW. It is interesting to play alongside someone for whom it is their first mmo experience.
Cheers!
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
I played solidly for the first two and a half year gave up several times resubbed several times . The last of which was for a month last year . Unfortunatly my experiance of the game was that it was way past its best .Unless you enjoy doing dungeon after dungeon or bg after bg . I found next to no one doing questing anymore so you ended up getting next to no world pvp even on pvp servers . The game had become centralised to citys in effect . The community seamed to have gone downhill somewhat as well . It looked like the same game I once enjoyed but it did'nt play like it anymore . The game dynamic had shifted almost beyond recognition . At the end of the month I realised it would never attain the atmosphere it once had and deleted all my characters and threw the game dvds away so i would never be tempted to play again .
I hope you have a good time and your experiance of the game as it is now isn't disapointing .
Resubbing didn't work me. I quitted WoW six months ago after almost 5 very active years. I begun to check other MMO's to find my new online home. LotR, DaD, AoC, Everquest II, SWG, STO (closed and open beta), Pepetuum beta, Allods and a couple more. None of these appealed to me. i just got bored after the first 10 days or so with no motivation to continue. A month ago i decided that it was time to return to WoW and resubbed with the intention to stay till SW TOR comes next year. I even got in touch with some good friends i played with for a long time, they also had resubed. Alas, as much as i wanted and tried it was not ment to last. A week later the same story. Zero interest in the game, absolute no inclination to log in. A few days ago i started EVE. So far it looks suberb, so very different than the others. However, who knows what will be going on in my head in a week or 10 days time. One day i may wake up and find my interest in EVE, poof, gone as well.
Maybe i'm growing old.
Welcome back ...but don't get too hung up on the 'free' epics - there's epics and then there's epics and WoW has a pretty bad press after they way the handled it in TBC.
Purple gear starts at item level 200 and so far we're up to 264 (AFAIK). There's a game changing amount of difference between the 2 and the later are far from free and need a lot of time to grind and usually a place in a good raiding guild.
Even getting a toon equipped with the best gear from 5-man heroics takes weeks and if you want to pvp that's a whole other set of gear you will need to grind. Very little for free here apart from the odd item level 200 pieces you get from the AH.
and to Shodanas... sounds to me you just need a break from the genre mate. Play some single player stuff for a while or go ont he console. I need around 4 months off MMO's every 18 months or so.
