ROHAN: worth it or not?

Angel_LaylaAngel_Layla Member UncommonPosts: 2

HI everyone, I was looking for a new f2p mmorpg and found ROHAN, but after reading waaaaaaay lots of negative comments from it I dont really know if its worth the time, so I have 4 questions:

1-Is there people playing this and in which sever/channel?

2- If you NEVER EVER buy brom the cash shop, will there be a big difference in gameplay and specially in PVP? (pleaaase respond this answer as complete as possible and if you can make comparations its better :) )

3- Are there client/lag problems in-game?

4- Also how is PVP managed? are there specific areas or can u kill every player in front of you without limit?

I hope you can help me with this :)

ad 1 ) Game is dying  - no point of starting now

ad2) This game is MOST cash shop dependent from all f2p MMORPG.

Last week devs were selling godly weapons - and definitelly unballanced this game.

Player with normal ingame weapon vs Player with epic weapon (made by gm) have 0 chance to win.

ad3) Lot of bugs- all well know by gms

ad4) bots -basically GMs allow you to bot   - you risk only few days in prison if they catch you

    ad4) after 30lvl yes

There is simply no way to start out in this game and hope to play it with other people. Communication is impossible at low levels, and while the grinding is fun it (for most people) can't sustain many long solo sessions in a row.

If you don't care about that, the monster slaying is great and the game is a lot of fun to look at and listen to. The animations and sound effects give the fighting a tremendous sense of energy and force. Whenever I hear something that reminds me of the music, I check to see how the game is doing, and I get a little yearning for how it gets your blood racing. But it's still just a Lineage 2 clone, designed as an excuse to hang out in a cafe.

If you want a nice F2P grinder that you can actually play with other people from the start, give Shaiya a try. The player base there is very friendly for some reason, to the point that I have numerous times found myself in groups killing monsters for no reason at all. Folks in Shaiya just like fighting monsters. (Mind the BTDNA program it may leave running on your machine as a startup service, easily removed though and not intentionally malicious.)

Besides all of this, what killed it for me was the fps cap at 20!

Just to warn all those people out there that hate their gamplay to be 'choppy'.

I did try it and found it boring boring boring. The big world, the long runs, the long grinds. Coming from one Korean grinder, I found this Korean grinder to be pretty much the same. On the up side, the combat animations are really, really good. It wasn't enough to keep this game interesting, but that and more than decent graphics are what I still remember as being good about RBF. Cash Shop though...nvm.

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...

Before you pass judgement on this game go back and read the web site and play an hour or two. you will notice major changes. The game is in the process of being changed and jazzed up a bit. The epic weapons were only available on the solace server, not the divinity server. The lvl cap is being pushed to 120. The game being chopy is not true, you need a new video card then. The skills are going to be changed soon and rebalanced. Ignore all entries before this date because those old arguments are not valid anymore. you can make gold in the game and sell it on the EM and use that credit to buy other things that money could have. its not all cash only, thats only if you lack patience. Give it another try you may like it now.
