Customer Service question: honest answers please

DarqueLordDarqueLord Member Posts: 195

I am interested in trying out EQII, but am a bit wary of the SOE involvement. So I am wondering if the customer service on this game is better than what I experienced on SWG. I am not looking for fanboi responses but just honest answers from those who have needed to talk to the customer service.

Please post what your problem was and what the customer service did to resolve it. If they did anything at all... Thanx.

I have had different problems over the years with playing EQ and planetside. I have always gotten a response very fast. I had a graphics drivers problem and they responded to that email within 24 hours. I have made petitions in game and they respond very fast. I never had to call a gm in EQ, but I had to in planetside. When I did they helped me fix the problems. When I called them for getting d/c a while ago they helped me and were very professional. I havent noticed any of the problems people talk about with customer service. I think they did a good job in planetside with the devs doing stuff with the community that was fun. Like when the BFR's came out they had everyone go in one area and try to kill it, was kinda funny.

A tip to reach the heart of SOE's customer service is to do live chat. It is not automated, does not take 2 weeks to respond, and it is accessable almost 24/5. SOE's live chat has helped me a lot with RAM issues and a little direct X bug in installing.

The live chat is for tech support, which isn;t the type of customer service I think he is asking about or is mostly complained about. There is no in game support; if you have a problem (which there is a good chance as it;s pretty buggy and wasn't ready to be released) you can epect it to be days to be addressed I had already experinced this. Given Sony's track record even when they do cotact you there is a good chance that they'll just tell you they can't do anything.

SOE customer service is GREATLY underrated IMO. I haven't had, and heard of very few, any problems with CS.

SOE management is what is bad with SOE. And people tend to think just because SOE management is bad, that the CS is bad, too.

Yea.. right... you've NEVER played an SOE game if you think CS isn't the worst you've ever experienced.

In WoW's beta the CS was 10 times better.. and that's BETA!

I can only imagine the abuse that CS goes trhu with absolute BS from people like the winers on boards like this. I have never had a problem with the CS in EQ or SWG. Then again I actually played the game rather than call for attention from a CS cuz my mommy wasn't home to hold my hand.image
