the problem with looking too good is lag the more popular it gets the more lag you get
fo a solo game i would say ok ncsoft more polish please.but its a mmo so it has to be around the quality of aika
true i wish so game dev found a way to do the distance effect better but for now thats all we have.

single game = no lag, so you can crank graphic up till your machine gives up(pretty high these days)

Every MMO i've played I run at the high video settings and get zero lag. Even in Aion during Abyss sieges my framerate stays above 30fps... runing a quad core with 8gb ram & gtx 260 gpu... hardly what would be considered a monster rig.

You people saying that higher graphics makes more lag don't seem to understand that when a game has higher graphics, it's your computer that is bogging down the framerates causing jittery visuals. The only things coming over the internet are positional data, character info and you did this much damage etc... throw your pile of crap out and upgrade. Don't bash a game just because it doesn't play on a freaking pentium 1.

when it comes down to playing PC games with graphics settings on maximum. people better be prepared to dish out the cash to keep their machine up to date.
if not, then there is no reason for them to even be touching PC games that require high specs and along with that they have no right to whine/bash as well.
ditto with these other americans. I think the art style is fantastic. in fact i haven't seen an mmo that has this good an art style/graphics ability yet. and as far as hating on the artist. i love this artist. his models are freaky sexy as hell. so not all american's are the same. and btw i am a southerner too.

Lag is always an issue I guess, but they handled it well in Aion...

single player rpg don't lag? well maybe because there's no latency due to the fact that it doesnt require a broadband connection, and every game has visual lag (stuttering) if your pc can't hand the game's minimum requirements... epic fail

The developers said they were testing the game on an outdated computer to make sure it will run on slightly older machines.
That aside... the great graphics are a selling point, why would they diminish them?

By the time this game comes out, I would least recommend a low budget i7 machine with at least a ati 4850 (cheap card)...
There is like only 1 game think that uses the technology of the new Directx11 cards... It's technology you don't really need (especially if you cannot afford the cost)...
Most games require processor power and a decent low-latency internet connection...
Decent processor, I bet you won't even tap half of your graphics cards power in most games even on high settings...
Aion is the same thing.. Good looking game but if you experience lag, I bet it's your processor mostly and internet connection with a distant second for cause...
B&S uses the Unreal 3 Engine. (which is DX9/10)
