Hi, i recently resubbed to VG after 2yrs. away, while the game is a lot better and I'll be playin it for a bit the pop is of course low. Anyways, is there anything similar coming out? I liked the variety of classes and how they play differently, love the crafting, very interactive and rewarding, diplomacy was my fav. thing to do probly, Lots of great lore there. Very big world and lots of solo and group things to do. Anything close to this comin out, fantasy or otherwise? Thanks!

It's funny how so many people have nearly identical reactions to VG that get them wanting more. I posted pretty much the same question a few months ago, but sadly there's nothing new out there that matches the good parts about VG.

One I'm keeping a wary eye on is TERA. Yes, it has all the trappings of Asian Grinder #293, but it's being "retooled" for a Western audience. Supposedly, the game has sandbox elements, based on a Q&A with TERA forum members. Admittedly, the answer was a bit on the ambiguous side, as we don't yet know about the inclusion or lack of player housing or really anything else sandboxy in nature. Not saying TERA is the answer, but it's one to watch.

As for anything else... heh... when you find it, let us know. There's a ton of us waiting for it. I could say Darkfall, but it's just PvP. Sure, it has player housing and a big open world, but if you're like me, you like the PvE and lore of VG along with everything else. Darkfall has very little lore, and most of it is on the website as opposed to being revealed in the game.

Fallen Earth is another one, though I've I got very little experience with it. It's post-apocalyptic near future Earth and takes place in a scaled down Grand Canyon region. Real world topography and large areas to explore, but from what I've seen it's kind of samey from place to place. Crafting is said to be nice, and there's lore in the form of the various factions. I quit the trial because, while I can see how people would like something different, I'm stubbornly partial to sword and sorcery in my RPGs.

Can't really think of anything else, but read through this forum. A lot of people are asking for this type of game, and there might be other suggestions I've missed.

Vanguard is the best PvE MMORPG there is in my opinion.  But I'm in the same boat, after 3+ years of playing that wonderful game I'm also looking for something new, but very similair.  I feel I've been spoiled and that there will never be anything like VG again.
