Back after a year and half, game has changed alot!

So I subscribed to the game this month to see what has changed. I only played the first month of WAR when it just came out and 'finished' the game at level 32 being part of the first warbands taking the capital cities 2 weeks after the game has been released.

I've been playing for about a week again now and will touch on some changes that the developers have made :

Scenarios

Many people agreed that Tier 1 (level 1- 11) was the best tier to play in, it had some awesome scenarios like Nordenwatch .

Now what happened was that as soon as you hit Tier 2 at level 11-12 you got locked out of the Tier 1 scenarios and at that time you would never EVER play them again.

The developers have changed this, and made the most populair scenarios reappear in tier 2, 3 and 4 including Nordenwatch!

There are also some rotten apples in the scenario pool which they simply removed from the rotation but only reappear during the weekends with special added bonuses.

Open RVR

Open RVR wasn't always rewarding back in the days, scenarios had the upperhand when it came XP and Renown rewards.

This has changed, at least when it comes to Renown, Mythic has increased the rewards so that Open RVR has become very viable to farm RP, if not the most efficient way of doing so.

They introduced a ingame 'paper' like war overview that tells you exactly where the fights are taking place at the moment and in which zone/area the most people are, when you press on the article you are being transported straight into the action! This is a great feature and saves you a lot of map reading trying to figure out where all the fun is!

Levelling/The Grind

One of my big worries was, especially when playing a zealot (healer) was The Grind to level 40, I did not enjoy doing all kinds of kill quests as a very low DPS class because it would take hours to complete a quest for hardly any XP.

With the introduction of Land of the Death, which is a new large zone with loads of Player Quests, this has changed.

From level 25 onwards you are able to access Land of the Death and enjoy the XP orgy this zone is. While rested I was getting 7500 xp per mob while grinding champions in a 6 man group, the mobs came in groups of 5. It took me 15-20 minutes per level :)

Granted when you loose your rested XP the levelling takes a little longer, but if you grind the champions you level really really fast!

In Land of the Death it is also very easy to find a group  for whatever PQ you want to do since so many people are attracted by  the very rewarding XP!

Another interesting thing about Land of the Death is that your faction needs to control the zone before you are allowed to enter it. You have to collect 'resources' in Tier4 area's by killing members of the opposing faction or by taking battlefield objectives.

From experience, you will have access to Land of the Death every other hour, if you are in Land of the Death while the other faction takes over the zone you can 'hide' in the zone or group up with your team mates and fight the 'invading' faction, you can understand that big massive will occur doing this transition period!

---

A lot of other things have changed that I have not mentioned here, but it's suffice to say that at least in my opinion, the game is worth giving another go if you are looking for something else to play or are just plain bored.

You can also try the free trial out!

Anyways, I used to be one of those nay sayers who doomed Mythic and who has written off the game, however my opinion has changed due to the changes that have been made, and i'm looking forward to the changes Bioware will make and the new expansion!

All MMOs change.  A person that has played for few weeks will start to see the flaws again when the honeymoon period  is over.   The game is still far from acceptable level for a sub based game.

yeah game has changed a lot for good and BAD

2-3 weeks ago mythic had the biggest fiasco i have ever seen on any MMO, what i'm talking about ?

pretty simple mythic's billing account  charge  people multiple times  per example :

my friend who pays  by moth with his CC , he got charge 14$ x 22 times in 1 day  but thats nothing other people got it worst

some who pay every 3 months got charge 40$+ X20+ times can you imagine ?

I know for a fact lots  and lots of people cancel their sub after this .

I agree that this fiasco is totally unacceptable, but it's not releated to the state of the game itself, obviously.

But it can (and prolly will) make an impact on the game's future, ofc. Even though 'lots' is not a fact, but an estimation. BTW, it would be great to know how many has left from this reason, anyway... it's a pity that we will never know that...

If you tried back then, its worth giving it another shot. My 3rd time returning to the game was around christmas too, and i ran into the same problem, but i returned again last month and its gotten quite a bit better. The last path was the one that changed scenarios amongst a few other needed improvements, and the next upcoming patch is going to completely revamp the end game city sieges to be 100% PvP based. Everyone playing is looking forward to the city siege changes, and between these 2 patches a lot of people have been returning as well as checking it out for the first time (in fact in the guild i joined this time around, its like 3/4 new players who are having a blast right now).

As far as the billing thing, i havent seen any evidence myself that these supposed massive amounts of people have left, in fact T2 an T3 seemed nearly twice as active most nights over the past  2 weeks or so (since the billing issue) compared to before the billing issue. All the billing issue really did was give a bunch of whiners more reason to nerd rage about nothing and spread doom and gloom as if they were robbed of hundreds of dollars that they never got back. Mythic has taken responsibility for what happened (though its actually their 3rd party billing vendor's fault), have apologized, gotten it fixed, and are trying to provide incentives for people effected by this issue. So dont let the whiners scare you away. Billing issues like this have happened in thousands of situations, wether it be games, or some other form of subscriptions. Shit happens sometimes, grow up and deal with it.

One 1.3.5 is a HUGE improvement overall and the patch notes are HUGE!!!!!!  BUT this game needs an expansion and an expansion fast.
