anyone know if the new level 80 area will be less instanced?
They are much less instanced. first of all zones are huge!! (se the xfire live demonstration video)
Zones are aligned next to eachother and are transparent as in you can llok from one zone to the other... So it will give a much more open feel. Also land in this expansion is plains so...
Hey guys. Just got the Croms Might Package. WoooHoooo... I'm going for the RRoyce package
It looks like there will be a choice of in-game items depending on how you purchase the expansion.
Retail boxes purchasers get a tamed puma pet while those who preorder through FunCom get a loyal Kappa pet. The puma is a pet that can't be obtained through other means and the Kappa is a buffing pet that spellcasts in wilderness zones and scales up with your level.
Decisions, decisions...

After looking at the official website again (now that it actually has launched) - I keep asking myself what ppl are actually paying for and why they call it expansion? It looks more like a normal free patch in most MMOs today - and the rest is featuers that were supposed to be out in the orginal release.
I wonder if DX10 is finally officially out in this expansion. They just talk about sound tho.
One feature that they really needed to work on was the Caster spells and their deathblows. Instead of blood splashing on the screen - it would have been nice to see some lightning features and dark magic (ghostly skulls - bones) pop up.
I really think this expansion is lacking alot. Maybe thats why they are able to send it out without actually much public testing. Or they are yet again hiding behind NDA and releasing yet another half finished product.
Forget all your reasons. I have a much more petty reason I won't be getting it, and I definitely would have, otherwise(I buy everything, but have no loyalty): They IP block you from their site if you don't enter a 'reasonable' date in one of those stupid age check things... I guess no 80 year olds play gory MMOs.
(yes it's an IP block, I cleared cookies and refreshed.)
Sorry but AoC is dead, no matter how many expansions or big updates will be released, they simply "lost the train". I hope they don't repeat the same mistakes in their upcoming title. Cheers

It may never reach huge numbers but as long as it has a community I'm glad to know they will see some love, it's good for the industry as a whole. Every game can't make everyone happy and this is one that won't ever make me happy but I like the direction this game has taken since a pretty awful release.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

What? which feature that is in godslayer was supposed to be out in original release? 10s of new dungeons, alternative levelin system which is much more complexed than just adding 10 new lvls, innovative pve with new soundtrack aand 5 new playfields. yes i agree - your typical free patch content ...

You have no clue, months of work is not a free patch. There are no features that were supposed to be in original release in Godslayer it is all new stuff. 5 massive playfields and 3 times as many dungeons or so is not a free patch.
Just wait and see, 6 months plus of closed beta testing, we have no idea of how many testers, there was thousands for the original release.
After losing all my log in details during the vast period of time (of not playing) and having my account linked to a very old (not in use) email. I never took this game back up again.
Moreover today...
I bought the game for £9 in hmv; it comes with a free month. So I plan on starting it again. I am rejecting the negative outlook from the gaming community because I am beginning to realise that it has systematically destroyed every MMO post world of warcraft!
And I look forward to exploring this new expansion in May.

The most obserevant and reflected thing I have read here is months. I do thoroughly agree. I started AoC like 9 months ago...Quite skeptical in fact due to a ton of badmouthing from explayers and what not. When I finally started the game it was just so fcking much better than WoW and all other MMO's I've browsed that I really realized pretty much the same thing as you. What a shame. probably several more MMOs out there suffering from the post WOW syndrom... Great MMOs that ironically enough the MMOers themselves badmouth and boycot to death... Anyways, I think AoC might have a chance. Have seen so many new faces over there over the last months.

I agree that AoC has some fantastic gameplay aspects and graphics, but have they changed the endless ganking once you leave the starter area? I love to PvP but why bother fighting players many levels higher than you, when you know you can never win? Gaining levels is tough because it is difficult to fininsh quests due to higher levels continually ganking low level players. Have they changed this OR are you still expected to look past this feature of the game and pay your subscription money and just get over it?

With the NDA in mind, I can just tell you that the RotG Expansion is exceptional.
I can also tell you I took advantage of FunCom's promotion package a few months back -- one year AoC game subscription, *free* RotG Expansion (digital D/L), free entry into Secret World Closed Beta, plus a number of free in-game items (which were available right away as an in-game "/claim" -- all for under $100US, or about $8US per month to play it all. Best deal yet in nearly 20 years of MMO gaming (MUDs, 1991).

Sorry but simply because you or I do not like/enjoy a game does not mean it's dead. Same with WAR. Some people hammer the crap outta that game but just because it isn't the new WOW and has half of Asia playing it, doesn't mean it's dead.
Same as the idiot who feels this is a PR release. May you're right and it is a PR release. And maybe, if you apply the right algorithms, you'll be able to decipher the secret message in the bible that will tell you how to get laid.
Losers.

Both AOC and LOTRO are games which have a solid core and good legs. The graphics alone will keep both games relevant for ages. Play either game for 5 mins then switch to WOW and you'll think your playing something on an Atari ST. I know graphics are really just peripheral but so are looks and how many guys would bang a chick for looks alone... and not get tired of it either.
There's my staggering insight for the evening.

The FAQ say no new classes for the Khitai...but doesn't say anywhere I could find what existing classes they can be. Anyone seen this information?
How much does the expansion cost?
24euro for an account upgrade. Dont know about the retail though
He that lives upon Hope dies farting.
18pounds at play. They do send free to large parts of Europe. http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/14371283/Age-Of-Conan-Rise-Of-The-Godslayer/Product.html Includin 30days gameplay.
