Have any Darkfall players tried Mortal Online? Your thoughts?
I'm currently playing Darkfall but am uncertain about it's future with all the upcoming changes, etc. I fear for the dumbing down of the game, the WOWification of it and I just won't go through a second NGE.

all i have to say is ....try it.
MO is in free beta right now. try it and see for yourself. there is no contest right now, DF smashes MO like Chuck Lidell VS Peris Hilton.
If you want PvP Darkfall, If you want RP-PvP/PvE play MO. Mo has better housing and crafting, but there are a bunch of issues which make its combat system, which should be better, fail as well as making territory control fail, mainly red status and non-unilateral war decs.
Games:
Currently playing:Nothing
Will play: Darkfall: Unholy Wars
Past games:
Guild Wars 2 - Xpiher Duminous
Xpiher's GW2
GW 1 - Xpiher Duminous
Darkfall - Xpiher Duminous (NA) retired
AoC - Xpiher (Tyranny) retired
Warhammer - Xpiher
Darkfall for ~6 months. MO for ~6 weeks.
I choose neither, but if I had to choose, I'd stay with DFO. MO will die, ppl are just unwilling to admit it to themselves. Anyone who has been paying attention to the history of MMO development knows the warning signs of a failed MMO and Mortal Online has them all.
The only reason to even play MO at this point is to craft shovels so we'll have the tools to bury it when the time comes.

I wouldn't fear too much about Aventurine "WoWing" DarkFall. Most of the upcoming content were meant to be released at launch but were either removed or simply put on hold. Good exemple of that is Prestige Class (which is not what it sounds like, it's an additional specialization that has more impact but doesn't really create "classes")
As for MO, as Jackdstriper said, try it while it's in Open Beta. But personally, the inability of Star Vault to do anything professional is a huge turn off for me. Sending Pre-Order CDs (72-108$) with a client that can't be used, constantly postpone launch date (June, September, January, March, April,....), and so on.....
Give MO a try, but don't expect too much from it. Usually I'd say "look at the game again in 6 months", but I'm not even sure they'll have launched the game in 6 months nor do I know if it will finally be stable or not.
i played mo for a long time and darkfall. darkfall is wayyyyy better by far. mo is totally fucked up and broken.
the crafting in mo sucks ass, half the shit you make is useless, the only good thing is the thieving system that all you carebears bitch about.
play darkfall OP, MO is gonna burn instantly
I mean, you are really like comparing a beta to a complete game release a year ago. All MO need is to fix their dysinc lag. You hate MO crafting system because you dont see the idea behind it. Crafting in MO hold secrets that you must discover yourself as a player and spread it by making guide on how to make each specific items. Its a sandbox game so you must discover to shape the current world and the current player base. DF is not a real sandbox game for its part. Only a huge pvp mess with 1 class only. The class that can learn all skills in game without cap. Econmy in DF is dead anyway.

u cant make a DF vs MO
Df is a relased game MO is on beta
DF get cash flow and devs can upgrade the game MO runs out of money and still on beta
BestSigEver :P
No excuses. In every other facet of software development the rule is:
"If you can't afford to make it, you don't"
What responsible company thinks, "let's build X and we'll figure out how to pay for it as we move along."
Especially a company with shareholders.
If I took one of my project plans to my executive team and it DIDN'T provide cost analysis and funding factored into the plan, I would be fired.

I tried MO and it was just awful. I have good specs but it lagged like hell + tons of glitches, badly decorated landscapes, although the coastal cities looked good. All in all - fail.
Keep on rockin'!
MO looks pretty.
That is all.
Neither, Everquest Next all the way!!! SOE will get this one right like they did EQ.
even if it was better, FPV melee is a failboat. FPV mounted is even more of a failboat. They really should of went with the df first person view with everything except melee.
Even if the main shareholder was your dad.
It's mostly going to be a Free Realms style game I'm afraid, not a world.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
well i hope not but sounds like SoE would do that!
Or fail like they did with Vanguard . ..

Only SOE didn't develop Vanguard. Sigil did.
SOE just put the game on life support.
That's right MO sucks. Lots of bugs, boring as hell, children-like community so far, pre-alpha looking game though they have the nerve to make people pay for it. Pathetic.
The comparison is invalid. Darkfall is a game, albeit with shortcomings, MO is a failed experiment that does not qualify as a game. Maybe in a year, if MO survives that long, the comparison can be done more fairly.
