Fast paced MMO

hidd3nmarin3hidd3nmarin3 Member Posts: 67

Hello, I am looking for a new mmo to play, i've play most the ones on the market as of a few years ago when i stoped.  I really don't have the time or patience to play slow mmo's anymore, waiting around hours for a group or slow combat does not sound fun anymore.

free or paid does not matter, as long as it does not come accross as cheap, point and click to move games need not apply, those drive me crazy. and if the majority of the population does not speak English i wont stick with it either.

want to be able to find groups and play with others (otherwise why play an mmo?)

mature community would be nice

fast paced combat

lots to explore

little down time

I really wanna get into something new and exciting (to me don't care on release date) but have time restraints now days and refuse to waste my gaming time sitting in a town with LFG on, if its impossible to solo while lfg then i am not interested.

Anyone know Diablo 3 release date ??? might have to wait for that one. =) i know its not a real mmo but it would work.

Is FFXI worth a look or would it be to top heavy to start out in now days?  how does the console versions compare to the pc version?

isent FFIV supposed to come out this year ?

how is LOTR online?  I never tried this one, have heard good and bad.

Now i played eq1 from release for about 6 years and loved it for the community but do not want that style of play again.

Played wow for a few years, combat is ok but waiting around for groups takes time, community is the worst of any mmo on the market and i'm not a fan of instances, prefer a complete world.

Also spend a few thousand hours in Anarchy Online, great community and lots to explore but more complicated then i'm interested in now days.

    I rec" to TERA!

It is a pay to play game,so most likely their wont be as much small kids like in free to play games, the game it self is not point and click, and the graphics are 2010/2009,the only CON is:

Its not out yet, will be out in English in about 8more months. (you might also want to try C9)

If you want to play now,so i suggest you a private pvp Lineage2 server, best action mmorpg expirence i ever had,Good luck i hope you find what you are searching for.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

Seems you need to pick WoW on a roleplay server..

Generally a very nice community (compared to some other servers), and with the new dungeon finder you are assured of finding groups very fast.

And no i am not kidding.... but it fits your description.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

The fastest pace MMO I've ever played is EQ2.

No MMO can match WoW's pace of finding PuGs. If you want that, then, sadly, you only have one option.

Maybe Tera, but its a few months away from release,  Unless you can get into one of there Focus Group Test or CB later this summer / winter.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

    Champions Online.

PVE is very fast, approaching Dynsasty Saga style slaughter.  Progression through levels is also quite rapid.

    Currently Playing: The Game

thank you for the replies, i found a few games that show some promise for what i want.

downloading there trials right now, fallen earth, lotr, and linage 2, hopefully one of these will be a good match for me.

No FFXI is not too top heavy, tons of people still leveling. The combat is slow though, and there's lots of downtime which you said is not what you want. You should still give it a try though, the game is so great you'd probably look past it. Btw, if you're looking for group play you won't find it in Fallen Earth or LotR.

well Fallen earth was a waste of time, game just could not grab my attention, but at least there were players online which or more then I can say for LOTR and Linage 2, also linage 2 had the  point and click play style that i can not stand.

So back looking, I also tried played a few old games i have that i enjoyed and never got to play very much due to military deployments.  Guess they both died, seems there is no servers for tabula rasa or hellgate london anymore.

Are there any good diablo 2 clones out right now with only play?

    Guild Wars?

I would say Guild Wars (not really a MMO, but close) would fit the best your description.
