EU/UK Hopeful player - Questions! Enlighten me Please!

Hello all, beta players and hopefuls.

I'm from the United Kingdom and I've got to say theres been little talk on this game, bar one posting in a magazine. I've been following it quietly since the first screens were released. I have to say it was one of the few games that actually looked like what they described it would be like when they were first talking about it. Which to me is impressive. It shows developers who knew what they wanted and how to go about doing it.

For this game, I'll call it an MMO, I'm looking forward to the hybrid of games that have had a baby, and the baby is APB. (Games like Grand Theft Auto, Need for Speed (Sort of), and FPS'rs)

I have a few questions though.

How does it feel as your controlling your character? Does it feel natural, or clunky?

Guns. Do they feel authentic?

Cars. How do they handle? Do you see in future player held events like races, and car shows?

Customization. Is it really as impressive as it looks?

Can Brits get in on the beta? I signed up a while ago and haven't heard from any other brits that signed up also.

I heard something about player made music being included in the game? Could someone elaborate?

I saw a screenshot of a bar, or club. Are there many social hubs? Is it likely a place that Roleplayers can assemble?

Finally, is it true I can have a siren and police lights ontop of my vehicle?

Thanks in advance :)

All I can answer there is that yes there is an E.U. closed beta currently running and that includes the British. The rest is still under NDA, so sorry about that.

    (EDIT: Oops...copy and paste error.)

Hey all, thanks for the very prompt reply, I'm shocked.

Ahh nice to know there is one for the Brits, sadly that means lucks not been on my side this time lol.

I'll definately be keeping an eye on this for launch then.

it does feel just like GTA regard to shooting and weapons,  its actually a bit smoother than GTA.

The cars.. havnt really had chance to play much but I dont think there is as much diversity as in GTA... but then you do have to unlock stuff all the time.

Customisation is as good as it looks  ;)

But it IS pvp... there is hardly any Pve at all.   Everytime you go on a mission the enemy faction can join your mission and intercept you.  It can get very difficult and frustrating.. but once you realise how to play, its great fun!

Not quite as big as an MMO, more of a Global Agenda type game but realistic not futuristic.

the shooting was no where near as smooth as gta but i never play gta on the pc only console yet i find i like pc shooters better, not in this case tho, the combat mechanics need alot of work and the driving mechanics also

Guns are very hit and miss, they haven't balanced them properly yet, so the AK47 is way overpowered.

Car handling improves with each patch, but combined with lag makes it much harder to control a car than in GTA or a real racing game.

Customisation is amazing, but you have to unlock a lot of the vehicles, clothes and pre-made tattoos, though you can make your own tattoos after the tutorial.

I'd never subscribe to it, but can see myself playing it on and off like I do with FPS games, as outside of the PvP, there is no depth to it at all, no enemy NPCs or real structure to the gameplay, its just random missions to make people fight each other.

It doesn't have a subscription as far as I'm aware of.

About the only question I can answer is that, yes EU closed beta is ongoing.

Apart from that - all of us testing are bound by a NDA and can't answer your other questions.

Check out the developer videos on You Tube, they may answer some things for you:

hmm, well I was more refering to the FPS..   on my machine in the last 4 hour play test I played solidly and found it a far more pleasurable experience than shooting in GTA.

But its pvp.. so like most pvp games most of your winning advantage comes from out witing your opponent, knowing their location before they know yours..  knowing the surrounding area, where you can get cover.. etc..

The whole moving around, runnin, ducking jumping up ladders over fences..  on the whole seemed to me like a much more fluid experience than GTA.

I'd admit to not having used anything but the starting gun.. and that was enough to own anyone I came across. (once I got the hang of it)

If it wasn't for the NDA, i would tell you how awesome this game really is. However, in my opinion this game will rule all in terms of customization. it is just crazy how much you can add to your character and vehicles looks wise. its just CRAZY!!
