Yes, actually. Lots of times in EQ. Some of my fondest memories where when my actions are what caused the group to win against overwhelming odds. Sadly, classes are so one dimensional now that one just can't be creative like we used to back in the golden age of MMOs.

lol Or the time in A New Hope when the guy failed to capture the plans from the rebels and vader snapped his neck. or the time when vader snapped the guys neck in jedi.

Or when he slaughtered the younglings in the jedi temple. Or when he slaughtered the leadership of the trade federation on mustafar. Or when he slaughtered all the sand people after his mothers death. Then he takes two lightsabers and chops dooku's head off.

Add in the deaths of all the jedi he's responsible for during order 66 and THEN throwing the emperor down the chute.

    No, Vader never killed anyone.

  • I kind of felt the epicness of Diablo2 back 10 some years ago or whenever it came out fighting hordes and hordes of minions that never seemed to stop coming at ya. It was a pretty good feeling to finely clear out a place, and just demolishing them wave after wave was always fun.

More so on hordes of mobs than being in the backround tossing 1-2 spells to heal 20+ players bashing a single mob or mashing 1-2-3 combo for damage for 20+ minutes..

http://neocron-game.com/ - now totally F2P no cash-shops or micro transactions at all.

Indeed. Playing games like FFXI for as long as I did I always felt like a little pussy when trying to kill stuff because everything took a party. O going to kill a small little plant? That takes 5 people. O are you going to go fight that little defeneseless little dog? That takes 5 people. O yeah, that small insect over there looks really easy to kill? O NO IT KILLEd YOU! That takes 5 people to kill as well.

I'd rather be that plant, dog, or insect in FFXI wrecking face on 5 people then being so weak and helpless as to need other people to gang up on what appear meek things. Fighting multiple things at once makes you feel much stronger than fighting one or needing multiple people to fight one thing.

Everyone has their opinion of epic, but mowing down hordes is far better then getting mowed down by one. Even if you die to the masses you at least died to the masses and not just one lousy little thing.

I've felt heroic after dropping NPCs that were extremely difficult in MMOs.
