Im building a new comp. Currently running a vista 32 bit, amdx2 6000+, 8800gt, 6gig ram.
I was just going to go with the i5-750 over the i7-930 being I think it may be overkill for anything out or coming out.Thinking of going with the gtx260 over one of the newer high priced Nvidia cards. Also going to go with windows 7 , 64-bit.
The new config can pretty much run any mmo at max settings I am guessing?? Opinions would be appreciated.

just put a ssd on your actual computer you ll get more bang for your buck !make sure to clean the inside with can of compressed air once in a while download the latest bios and latest driver and all and your good!
you wont gain speed by buying a new system if you ha a x2 4000 or such i might say upgrade but the 6000 is a beast as fast as what is avail now and no game take advantage of more then 2 core anyway!
sorry!buy a beer instead!

that link gives you a quick rundown of your current processor vs. the i5 750 (pay attention to the "Lower is Better" bars)
the thing about SSD drives are, unless your running games with a lot of loading screens.. its not going to benefit your gaming much. IE. SSD's are not going to effect your FPS.
are they a nice upgrade? yes. are they a smart upgrade? no, not right now. Focus more on CPU and GPU for gaming, if you're loaded.. then shell out $300+ on a 200gig SSD later.
To me it looks like you would do good with just a graphics card upgrade. You should also upgrade to a 64 bit operating system so you get the benefit of all that ram. I'd wait on the other stuff til you can actually get a decent upgrade to it without paying brand new tech prices.
Any reason you're going intel/nVidia? If not I'd say get an AM3 mobo and an ATI 5770 or 5850 if you can afford it. CPU wise the Hexa cores have just been released yeah they're overkill and probably won't be fully utilized but are cheap and each core runs at 3.2 GHZ. If that doesn't float your boat try a phenom II X4 or even a X3 to save money, a triple core will run anything just fine. Win 7 and 4 gigs of decent ram even DDR3 as it's cheap now.
I wouldn't recommend a SSD until they become cheap and larger, until then a decent normal one will do. Also get a good case, I went with an A plus case. A good keyboard, I went with a merc stealth but many preffer the G15. A good mouse, I can't reccomend the Razer Naga enough.
Get a good brand name PSU, OCZ or corsair are good names of about 700 Watts. I reccomend higher wattage as a PSU will lose 20% of its efficency over the first 6 months of use.

The i5-750 is a good choice. It is the cpu that I am currently recommending. I would probably go with the Radeon 5770 instead of the gtx260.

i had a post but it seems im not torough enough in the description!sorry but this post would be too long if i did!
my advice stick with x58 if you go intel!(or better one)
An Am3+ Mobo+Phenom II 945 (or 965 if you know how to OC) gives you more bang for the bucks than an intel core i5.
But that's just my 50 cent and someone below me will try to crush this comment. I'd like to give any valid proof for my comment but got nothing in english here xD
