1. Is there still a 14 day trial? If so, where?
2. If I did the trial, and decided to subscribe, would I have to buy the game and all of its expansions?
3. Is the game compatible with Windows 7?
Comments
1 - yes....
2- dunno
3- yes, I run W7 ultimate - 64bt with no problem.
Question 1:

Question 2:
All of DAOC's expansions are now free to all subscribers, you just subscribe to the game and you have access to everything. Although, I'm not sure if you purchase an account and then subscribe, that's something you'll have to see when you upgrade your trial account.
Question 3:
Yep, DAOC is very compatible with Windows 7, I use it.
Oh, and Torak, love your DAOC gallery here, and you're right, why bother with anything else.
I'm trying to post some good down to earth / everyday pics of the game, DAoC is a classic but mostly forgotten in a sea of garbage IMHO. All those pics were taken in the last month.
I wasn't sure on his question #2 if you had to pay for anything at all and just upgrade. My account was created in 2003.
My account was created in 2002, but I didn't want to resub just yet. I wanted to play around on the trial, and then after 14 days if I'm still into it, I can just plop down $15 to keep playing on the trial account, so I don't lose my progress with the Paladin I'm leveling up right now.
I decided not to make my own thread about this, and I am not a returning player, however, I am interested in this game, and would like to ask few questions.
First of all, I have never played this game; but it looks fun.
So:
1) I am European player, is there international servers or own for NA / EU, and where can I find a good amount of players.
2) Which of the 3 factions should I choose, theres so many classes, that I could pick any faction, just would like to know which one is the most fun to play (quest)...
Thats pretty much it!
Everyone in the world plays on the same server now. Just choose any of the Ywain servers. Choose whatever realm appeals to you the most.
Alright, cheers!
Hibernia it is.
Yep, play on the Ywain cluster, has the highest population. Roll with Albion or Midgard, there's already far too many hibs out there.
I say roll what you want.... realms always flop around in population anyway.
Played: DAoC 6 years, WoW 2 years, Ultima/EQ 1+ years, AoC/Aion/Rift/SWTOR a few months
Tried: Warhammer, EQ2, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Runes of Magic and many, many others...
Currently Playing: DAOC
I'm a EU player also, pops are pretty healthy around the clock these days. Look at my gallery to see a pic of a bunch of people in the Alb tutorial zone yesterday afternoon EU time. When you do look for a guild ask in the /advice if any EU time zone guilds are out there. They dropped GOA and consolidated most EU into the NA server cluster.
I have not seen any point in a month of play were there was a lack of players. Head to the capitol or to the frontier to see where everyone is at.
The game has one server cluster of 10 servers (Ywain). You can travel freely to any server. The realm vs realm areas from all 10 go to ONE single area so it always has something going on.
If you decide to try out each realm, I would recommend you keep each of your realms on different servers. reason being is if you put them all on one server you have a lockout timer if you want to switch realms.
EDIT- the only real effect what server you choose really has is that you may only purchase a housing plot on your native server. That can make it kinda tough as some servers are all taken. The camelot herald has a housing explorer on it somewhere I believe.

Choose a faction that appeals to you most. Look it over on the offical site. Each realm has it's advantages. Mids have an advantage in melee because of the their skills are set up (you can use single handed and two handed weapons with one skill) Hibs IMHO have an advantage in casting and Albion...well they're Albs...they have numbers lol...
Content per realm is roughly identical so none are really any more "fun" to play. You also have your epic quest which start at level 5 and continue to 45 and really just a lot of area to explore. The game stands pretty well on its own without the RvR but you definetly don't want to miss that, it's the core of the game.
I'll add one question of my own :P
Are the servers decently populated? I want to try this alot but I am currently playing WAR and the servers aren't doing so well, however It's still just enough so that I can have fun and do some orvr every once and awhile. Is it easy to get in a decent sized rvr battle going? Are the servers more populated than that of Warhammers?
Thanks.
Waiting for: Archeage, Darkfall 2.0, and Planetside 2.

As i said, It's one big cluster and one RvR area.
Pick whatever server you want, you can travel freely to any of the 10. Read my post right above yours.
Thanks Torak, you sure gave me a good packet of information there!
Yea some good info in here, I was thinking of giving the game a try at somepoint. I think its the setting more than anything else that appeals to me.
