There is no misleading about that statements

     - The ability for "over 10 thousands concurrent players" has been proofed already..is a while ago tho (around end of beta / launch with epic queues to log in number of online players got displayed that days) .

     - See they tell you you can / must improve your skills, the lack of overall levels gives you the freedom to do participate in everything wizthout level restrictions hence "no leveling needed". The skills in itself improve rather in tiers (25,50,75,100) then what we usual think of "levels".

    - There was about 2000 players in a single area reported involved in a single siege event ...a while ago tho..but capacity is there.

I never said i didnt believe the server could hold 10k players. What i said was there is no way there are 10k people subscribed. There is no way there are 10k players subscribed right now and i think the fact that the server can handle 10k is pretty irrelevant because it will never have close to that many subscribers.

Claiming that there are 2000 player events and events with thousands of players is pretty misleading. Sure it may happen once every few months but thats like a car dealership claiming they carry mercedes when they get 1 used mercedes every 2 years. Its something you see advertised but never actually see for real.

Even is the battles of todays Darkfall which may scaled down to 100 vs 100 or 50 vs 50 fights, its still a lot more then what you will see in most of the AAA titles..also i doubt the number of 10k peeps play a role for you gameplay cause it will be always a finite number of peeps you can interact in the area you reside and never the whole server..the 10k players you demand are irrelevant to your gaming session..

I see where you coming from now...a doomsayer who just want to fill the board with "end is near" messages..

Doomsayer? I am subscribed and playing right now? I just cant stand people who live to defend a game and deceive others in attempt to get them to play it. You can't really argue against the points I made in my previous 2 posts in this thread, and they aren't negative comments about the game they are just the truth. I just don't go around telling myself all day that this game has in good shape and defend against any comment that could possibly be negative, even though they are true. I just cant bring myself to be that mindless.

It's just a game, you pay fifteen dollars a month to play, the company doesnt care about you or your efforts to defend the game, and if you stopped playing it right now nobody would care.  I dont understand why anyone would take a firm stance to defend the game at all costs even though its against all logic and there is no reward for doing so. Sometimes i think people really believe the game company cares that they are defending their game. Like there is some achievement for making 10,000 Darkfall Defender Posts on forums, and you get a mob named after you in the game when you get it. They don't care at all, so you can stop making yourself look stupid and pretending the game is in good shape.

It's so unoriginal and stupid really to call someone who doesn't happen to believe every good thing about a game and deny every bad thing about a game a doomsayer. Sorry but some of us still have common sense and logic. I am playing the game right now and I wouldnt be subscribed if i wasnt getting entertainment out of it, but just because I pay 15 a month doesnt mean i have to become a zealot for aventurine.

Lag exploiting: Chances are he wasn't actively exploiting the lag. He either was on a crappy connection or is a chinese gold farmer. I've had this happen to me several times recently.

Alignment system: its broken but not as bas as most people think.

I found this video and this is EXACTLY what happened to me. This has happened to me over 7 times now 3 times with the same person, every time i see this happen it is someone who is gathering resources. i didnt want to call hacks at first but after it happened so many times to me I have no choice but to claim that they are hacking.

Report them and let  GMs investigate. Not much else you can do. Hell, not even sure if AV is aware of this.

But it comes back to the question i posed originally:

Hacks are in every game though so why play a game in the first place if you really are bothered by hacks?

That said, hackers aren't a major issue in DarkFall. The amount of hackers really isn't that high (though most likely due to the low populationm but that's a different issue). I have to blame the bad apple in this case, and you just happened to find that guy.

I don't think  you should be bothered by this more than that. I''m a lot more worried about people AFK Macro'ing their way up, than a very small minority using lagswitch hack while they mine. Just report them and let AV handle it.

I'm not that really bothered by it but i guess when you spend 2 months straight just killing mobs so you can eventually PVP and then runnning into hackers like this its frustrating.

as far as AFK macroing how can you blame them? people who are macroing just fell for the darkfall marketing of "hardcore PVP game" then realized there are months of PVE required just to kill someone. PVE sucks (just buy a single player game), there is no way to effectively level off of PVP and zero incentive to PVP as far as i can tell besides getting loot so why wouldnt they macro?

There would be no need to macro had Aventurine enforced rules from Day 1. They really messed up at launch and it still shows in the current community. You could say that the vets "forced" new players to play this way. Since all players wanting to try DarkFall want PvP, they HAVE to grind their way up so they can finally PvP....sad reality.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just make it possible and viable to level up in PVP?

True enough, but they didn't. So they had to work in a different way and took too long to act and prevent many key issues with the community.

Even to this day, they are still very slow at releasing content, far too slow in my opinion. Which is why I keep asking for AV to release small patches, so we can see change to key features on a regular basis rather than having to wait 6 month + 1 month of Testing to get an "expansion" which doesn't fix all that much to be honest. Sure they add a decent amount of content, but still lack the real incentive for players to go out and PvP and with the grind it's even harder to create the incentive.

It should take at most 2 months to be competitive, not 4-6 months. PvE grind is very dull, AI isn't all that impressive once you figure out the pattern after the 5th kill. PvP during PvE happens....but rarely unless you are at the goblin spawns (go figure). (Of course PvP happens a lot more than that but you get what I'm saying)

Wish there was an actual MMO worth putting time in.

LOL funny story . .. been there and done that a few times.

It is much faster to go to New city or a chaos city if you go red. I have the opposite story . .. recently returned to Human lands and since I've been here as a blue (usually am red) I have been rolled 3 times in a row . .. all this PVE has made me soft maybe? One thing for sure, is that I have been too laid back and have not warmed up before heading out like I used to which is harder to do if you are blue so I guess it is time to base out of a chaos city once again so that I can duel more often and play more carefully.

Hackers are now pretty much non-existant but the same thing happened to me recently when I jumped a harvester . .. was warping around like a really bad connection so it wasn't like any hack that I had ever seen but it seem that somehow he was still in control since he continued to mine while it appeared that he was stuck in the middle of the road. I had to run around and shoot all of the nearby nodes to find where he really was. I reported it as I always do. AV always seems good with taking care of cheaters that use hacks although it may take them some time to catch them.

You got 3-shot because you suck at dodging a mount. This is easy to correct. Find a friend and take turns being the mounted killer until each of you have learned to dodge it enough that you can shoot off the rider. You can at the very least parry every attack unless there is a swarm of mounts until you find smoething like a tree to use as cover while you pew pew pew! If there is a mounted rider you have the advantage because the rider can not heal himself other than drinking a pot or eating food so the extra damage they deal is totally fair. You should eventually figure out that mounted combat brings you to a disadvantage for the most part unless you are against a new person and so I recommend always starting a fight on foot. When you do fight them make sure that they cannot get even one hit in because it hurts bad but that is totally fair because the person on foot always has the advantage unless its vs a battlemount in open terrain (which would be your fault anyways for chosing such a lousy battleground).
