yeh i am going to come back and give it one more chance, just started the dl, will be done when i get back from work tonight.. i play on a pvp server and i used to love the game, but i made it to that river jungle zone and it just killed the game for me.. i HATED that zone. it was not immersive really, and it really bothered me that the trees did NOT move even though you could hear wind. i hope the environments become more interactive because if not it will be another short stay.
This game just keeps getting better and better, some of the new scenery just takes your breath away like the first time you see the great wall or the bamboo forests, jungle or desert. I'm glad they didnt add more lvl's to gain and instead added the alternate advancement system which lets you improve on the skills you do have and gives you a few new ones. From what little ive really seen of the new playfields there is plenty to do, see and kill plus all the new armour sets, weapons and mounts. The stability has been great for me (some people have reported a few crashes) and i get a small drop of about 10fps in the new area's which i guess is understandable because they are so big and detailed.
Thumbs up to Funcom for sticking with this game and making it what it is today.
I'm also glad that they didn't add more levels, the trip from 1 to 80 is long enough. There is however now such a myriad of things to do on the way with the AA system, and the new zones are huge and open and given a gritty real feeling of openess and mysterious around each corner. AoC is to me the best "non kiddie" MMO out there (though I know PvP servers can be rough on some)
What he didn't go over is the mounts each have their own abilities. The Tiger mount has the fastest sprint in the game, and it can go full stealth in the playfields, where as the wolf has the ability to 'sniff' out your enemies, sense 'stealth' attackers (good for PvP I assume) and dig for buried treasure.
