i added the pet key to my account successfully,but it doesnt show the crock icon on the claimable items tab.
cant log in to the game now to check ,because the servers are down for hotfix.
so wondering if its like this for you.

It's really not a HUGE issue with me lol. More of a nit pick. They offered 4k and said it was limited. People loved it, then they set it back to 10k and every started to make fun of it.
The croc isn't the overall issue anyways, it's MMORPG selling out. You all know they have been getting worse and worse over the last couple of years.
They just turned a really cool way to promote the site into a way for people to make fun of it.
Actually, in this case at least they got me back in and paying attention. Usually their promos are so limited I never get a chance to get whatever key they're handing out...so I am really pleased they had enough here that I actually had a shot.

I gain no pleasure out of sensing or imagining the envy of others, since I know it's not really there. And the few people who do desire a croc pet as a rare exclusive...well, I suggest taking a break from the MMO virtual world and getting a little sunshine. Maybe go to the zoo and see a real, genuine exclusive crocodile or something.

If you buy the deluxe version of the expansion you get the buffing pet for pre-order. You can also spend anoother $10 to get the flying pet, a ring and some other stuff. The flying pet "levels with you and fights by your side" so I am thinking more people will have that out than the croc.

WoW reference, yay. Well, it costs 25 dollars to get a mount (Algalon-style flying horse aka Celestial Steed), and 10 dollars for vanity pets.
The little croc is nice, but the problem in AoC is that you have to do lots of zoning in, zoning out, and have to re-summon the pet constantly. And... Kappa clearly overrides the useless croc!
14000 out of 250000 + is hardly everyone and their mother and if it were 4k keys only surely people would be doing just the same thing you say they are doing atm? strange
Since AoC's population is no where near 250,000 unless it grows by around 4 times than 14000 is a lot of keys it ould be like 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 AoC subscribers. Funcom wishes they had 250k subs as that would give them porofit.

Um.. no, you are wrong. The $25 mount only lets you fly if you already have the flying skill and only lets you ride it if you have the riding skill. In essence, it is just a 'cosmetic' coverup of what you are currently riding. The only advantage is that if you get the pet early, you don't have to 'buy' any of the real mounts.. But for a long time now, buying mounts has been extremely cheap, the cost is in training the appropriate riding skill. Even if you have this pet at level 20, you will still have to buy all the riding skills. And you won't get 310% flight speed unless you obtain ANOTHER mount that gives you that speed. In the new expansion about to come out, 310% flight speed will be purchasable, which you will still have to do even if you own the celestial mount. Again, this is purely cosmetic.
From Blizz " the Celestial Steed will automatically upgrade in speed as the player advances in Riding skill. For example, the Celestial Steed will run at normal ground speed if the character knows Apprentice Riding, and epic ground speed with Journeyman Riding. i got game time till next month i unsubed from AoC ( i do this with all games to save me the trouble of worrying if the bank account overdraws) and i goto register key but it asks me to upgrade everytime and the pet is never added. on top of that my account is currently active and playable for another 27 days. any ideas?

You cannot add anything to your account with a key unless you have billing details on your account. That's how their system is setup. So put your credit card details in, reactivate the account, enter your new key, then remove your credit card info. You will not be billed as long as you have time still on your account, it's only for the system verification.

Yeah In TBC it was 5000 gold for the good flying skill and 100 gold for a mount and I just looked it up so it is right, 100 gold is cosmetic or 2% of the flight skill cost. I knew many players who got arena mounts that needed to grind gold for the flight skill. On the other hand Funcom sells pets that give no advantage but also XP pots, items, and mounts that do give an advantage and gives free AA and XP levels for just being subscribed.
It is hard to argue with facts, don't know why fans of AoC would bring up a comparison to Wow when AoC looks much like a cash shop to me going by 59 US dollar might of crom item pack. XP pots on top of free levels, I'm waiting for the in game advertisement like AO of Pepsi and Xbox 360 and other age of conan related themes along with cash exchanges as AoC is just two years old ;p
But the free croc pet was a good marketing theme for Funcom as it gets more pro AoC players to MMORPG forums.
