Can we use Joysticks with WoW?

in World of Warcraft

A buddy of mine is going to be using a Mac for WoW and hates using the keyboard. 

I told him to get over it but he wont.

Does anyone know if you can use a joystick controller with Mac OS for Wow??

    He may be able to use a gamepad, and bind keyboard functions to the gamepad's buttons. But, other than that, your friend will need to get over the fact that WoW is not a console game.

    like wut dokah said, its not a console game, tell ur friend to get over it and just use the keyboard.  wuts so frightening about keyboards anyways?

    I dont know what he's thinkin but he wont use the keyboard!!  Geeze.

    I can tell you that im 100% sure that you can

    WoWs UI customization runs VERY deep and it wouldnt be hard for someone to whip one together for controller use.

    I don't understand why someone would want to use anything other than a keyboard with a PC game other than flight simulators. I even prefer using a keyboard in driving games. It's nice to have access to far more buttons at your fingertips. Plus it seems to me that when using a keyboard, you have more control of the game than a joystick.

    Q: Can I play this game with a joystick or gamepad?

    A: Currently there are no plans to offer direct support in WoW for the use of a joystick or gamepad. The controls in the game are based on a mouse and keyboard interface.

    Note that this doesn't mean that there isn't or won't be 3rd party software that allows you to run the game with a joystick.
