My main question is: Does the new expansion give more content to 80's. (small groups-raid groups)
Now my next question is about the gear? When I first quit AoC the PvE gear was garbage the best gear was the crafted gear with all the gems. This was a key factor that drove me away. Can someone explain any changes to the gear system to me if any. With the expansion I am thinking about maybe giving it a second chance, I left on pretty furious terms hence my sig. I am more interested in PvE gear I really dont care about PvP stuff. I have always sworn I would never give funcom another dime but if its really changed, I may reconsider.

from what i read about on sites its more 80 content than any other level its an expansion i dont think they need to help people lvl after all this time but there is a new 20-40 zone if you arnt lvled
Lots of new dungeons. Wouldn't be able to tell you about the gear yet.
Four new huge maps for only 80's filled with group dungeons.
T-4 Raids
12 seperate factions including faction gear
The best gear in the game atm is raid gear, there are four tiers of raiding t1, t2, t3, and t4 (brand new)
Tier 3 is still somewhat new and no guild in the NA servers or EU has cleared it all, so guilds going to t4 is far away.
There is plenty of content to keep you rolling and happy, I suggest giving AoC another shot and rolling on a PvE server so you can quest in peace
My lvl 80 is on Set i dont even know if that server is still there.

Yes it's there, Set and Wiccana are the PvE servers; Wiccana's pop is a little higher than Set atm but population overall is good on Set
Set is there and it's one of the more populated ones. For your question on level 80 stuff. yes there is a tonn of new 80s stuff. 4 new major zones and 12 new Factions in those zones. Each of those factions have a specific gear set you can earn. Each of these sets have 4 tiers. 3rd and 4th look like a mean mthrfckr. There are lots of new dungeons. There's tier 4 raiding. All good stuff for 80s. ANd then ofcourse there's lots of Alternative Advancement points to earn so that you can equip new feats on your character on top of the old stuff.
The Ultimate Breakdown
It doesn't sound like theres much of a rush from the guilds to get the best gear.
Is it because the raids are really hard for guilds to complete them?
If not is it because the guilds don't think the gear, though the best in the game, is worth the trouble?
I'd like to do it if it was challenging and enough of a reward to make it worth the effort. 'Cuz if "the challenge alone should be worth the effort" if the same response then no ty
Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.
To add a little there are 12 group dungeons too. Those 12 factions have gear at different faction levels too.
World Epics are back! In Godslayer at least, TBC for original.
There are some open world bosses than can be spawned in certain situations (X2)
Some of the dungeons are pretty solid on the whole to be honest, some make you scratch your head, other offer subtle hints at before you get into it.
Now the expansion has tokens galore, gained from lots of different things, these can be used for Faction vendor gear (huge amounts traded based on time taken to gather) There prob will be a T4 vendor some point same set up.
Guilds will not breeze through the all the group dungeons fast, the Raid dungeon is pretty much Open and requires some skill. There are 2 bosses in T4 Raid right now, plans to add another 3/4 in over the next few months. The Jade Citadel will expand. There are quests for it but only some people have got that far in yet. I'll leave you with a name.. The Obsidian Basilisk no other words to describe other than EPIC!
The gear is said to be excellent the challenge equal to it.
