Wow.. did he just announce that they fixed the desync (for the.. oh 8th time or so) but that they closed the open beta and to see if he's tellng the truth you have to buy the game? OMG this is hillarious.
Pretty much... But they haven't said when they'll re-enable all the features.
On topic: Any word on when the first wave of feature-reimplementations are gonna happen? Like, say, before the 17th?
Feature re-implementation is a constant process rather than "waves".
We can enable a lot server-side but some things have to be done client side of course. We might have a client side patch on Monday - thats not set in stone though.
They have some time to fix what they can and like AOC will fix the rest after the game is released. Im still hoping the game turns out because the rest of the games out their are old or just suck. I will be playing AOC in the meanwhile. I have lost allot of hope for this game to make it though sad to say.
>>With the new engine build, we have finally solved the desync issues we suffered from in the old network solution.
Talk about a lie. The desync problem is still there.
Of course it's a lie. But they have to release and it's going to be epicly bad. I am convinced now they are totally out of cash, and you'll see people leaving in droves after they can barely play.
That said... I am going to bet money people are getting resubbed without asking after the first month. So July 9th, watch out for those charges!
Thanks for the warning, it looked very AoC like to me in terms of promises, so i was letting others view the game ahead of time. With all I hear about this I guess i'm really waiting on (good news from) FFXIV. If not I guess I'll have to be excessively patient for GW2

These guys troll this place to death, the desync is gone 100%
So in every forum about this game, everyone that posts problems that should be weeded out before a beta is an obvious troll. Fun stuff. But a beta version does this: It crashes, has imbalances, and graphics are meh. A beta does not do this: Server instability (in terms of keeping a connection), desynchronisation, major bugs (such as unable to create characters, use certain skills, etc (that should all be bot tested before every version goes live))
I have to find it a bit amusing that with no features turned on, they have "solve desync".
How do they know, if they don't have the whole game turned on? This is ridiculous and the fanboys just eat it up. I am going to laugh heartily on the launch of this game, and I am preparing a *lot* of popcorn because it's going to be an EPIC fail.
Maybe they fixed the desync error BY turning most of the game off. Maybe they will rebrand the game as "Not Much Online."
"Gypsies, tramps, and thieves, we were called by the Admin of the site . . . "
The desynch was not an issue for me in Closed Beta. . only open beta. The fact they that are saying it is fixed with features turned off and will limit the access to the same number of players as closed beta shows nothing. . the people playing will say it is fixed and then when the serverload hits on release there will be some screaming.
This game is SOOOO doomed, got my popcorn ready to watch the firework show
Exactly. Succeed or fail (don't really care which) MO has been a source of fine entertainment over the last few months. I'll be sure to get the glutton-sized tub of popcorn and a drum of soda to watch the show on the 9th. It's gonna be EPIC.
The fact they that are saying it is fixed with features turned off and will limit the access to the same number of players as closed beta shows nothing. .
Actually it speaks volumes...It shows they haven't fixed the issue and the population limits of the server.
I take my car to the shop...
Me = "Sir, my car shakes violently over 55 MPH"
Mechanic = 'Then drive it at 45 MPH... problem solved and heres your bill"
This is essentially what SV has done.
Its probably a blessing MO has such a small player base, the game cant handle much more than a few hundred.
Maybe Henrik will pull something out of his ass though.
i actully went into irc and asked wtf they was thinking. they said they actully didnt have the means before this to test there game inhouse cause of lack of tools and now they do with the new engine and everything. so we will see what happen after next patch the client has 0 optimization atm hence the LAG
Well, its finally time to watch this game crash and burn. Closing the open beta and saying the lag is gone when there are probably a max number of 100 people on the server at one time... O did I mention... saying they fixed lag/desync when everything is disabled is the biggest lie I have seen since the start of the beta... It goes in high step with all the false advertising trailers they were releasing showing awesome dragons that were never even put into the beta...
This is going to be awesome to watch... I can't wait to see what the fans will do... /cuts wrists

its not disabled server side just client side. thats part of the issues witht he client atm too. the client we have now is a new build. its not the old one. but i think there jumping the gun by saying its fixed. and thee not going by the amount of testers on the server. there going by what they see in the in house testing. they had some packet issues witht he old engine and theyc ouldnt find them the new engine has the proper tools to see whats wrong. Hence why they said its fixed. but i can almost bet as soona s the stuff is enabled client side for the testers shits going to brreak again.
So many Baghdad Bobs on this site. I've been beta testing the game since open started and the desync is no longer an issue. I will not buy MO because even though the desync is fixed the game is vastly inferior to DFO.

"Desync is no longer an issue"
How is that true after they disabled all features and limited player access?

Whether the desync is there or not is meaningless, the game just isn't that good. The combat is slow, the graphics odd, and the game-play is pretty much nonexistent. Why there have been so many following this game, wishing it will fail is beyond me, it will fail there's no question about it. Why should anyone care so much though? As if we haven't seen an mMO fail before.

It's already dead.

If everything is fixed, whats the hold up?
I win!!! LOL@U

They have yet to prove the issues can even be fixed. This latest move is obviously a cover-up.

Of course it is, along with most of the features. They just have a horrid lag problem now...
Once again... If the game is fixed why are they restricting access now?
WHY NOT SHOW EVERYONE ITS FIXED?
Why close open beta BEFORE turning the features back on?

It may be 06/09 but hasn't this date come and gone? Wonder if the date should read "06/ year to yet be determined"

This game had potiental, now it's become a joke.
Maybe Henrik will pull something out of his ass though.
It is my opinion, that your opinion is incorrect.

Only if you $ paid/pay $ Starvault.
Since there is still much to be tested, did they say why the Open Beta closed?
I win!!! LOL@U
They'll probably start dropping like SVs stock...

its on the home page its to prepare for release.
