I think the mods should create an auto lock script where if WoW and EQ2 are in the same post, the thread gets auto-locked. The flamewars between the two is getting ridiculous already.

It seems that most of the people waiting for EQ2 have gone to a better place: EQ2. Now all that is left is flamers and a few people who have to capacity for tearing themselves away from the game (like right now, I'm at work so I can't play). It's clear to me that EQ2 and the other (whose name I shall not utter here) are made for quite different audiences. The flamers have come here because their open beta has closed and they are waiting for their game to come out. When it does, the flames may lessen (because it make flamers happy), or the flames will increase (because the game is less fun than being a bully in a text only format). I have an attention span, so I choose to play EQ2. I ignore reviews from the WoW gamers (oops, okay, I said it) because they have nothing constructive in their criticism. It's all, "we own you," or whatever 5th grade slogan is cool at the time. If I cared about WoW, then I would go to the WoW board. Based on the reviews of said 5th graders, it really doesn't peak my interest. Personally, though, I can't wait for WoW to start because the flamers will have something else to do than smam the EQ2 board with useless blah.
Calamities are of two kinds: Misfortune to ourselves and good fortune to others
I came here on the mmorpg.com boards a few months ago. It had some great discussions and ideas, a few flames here and there, but what good board doesn't. But as of lately these boards are getting retarded (you know, I'm actually starting to like that word, although the translation in my own language ('achterlijk') does the job a bit better). I've been on the Internet for more that 10 years. Participated in a lot off discussions and was able to voice my opinion. Sometimes I was right, sometimes I was wrong. And that's great, that is what discussions are for. But the type of posts I have seen here lately are nothing more that mere flames. Posts with the one and only intention to anger people, personally attack others and the voicing of false, misleading and/or just stupid remarks. I think it's time that the mmorpg.com staff steps in, locks a few threads, suspend a few users and make it know that this kind of behavior just isn't acceptable anymore.
Isn't it a bit moronic that some pixalated entertainment brings the worst out of some people? (and maybe that says a great deal about them)

I don't believe in God with a capital G and, despite their obvious solidity, I don't believe in the gods with their small g's. Not as real forces in the universe. But I believe in the bitch-goddess Irony. She crosses all time. She rules men and gods and God alike. And She has a wicked sense of humor.

Being a WoW fan with above a 5th grade education, I can honestly say that I'm glad that MMORPGs require people to PAY to PLAY so that so many of the kiddies will leave. They are so easy to spot in-game, too; if you talk directly to them, they ignore you and walk away. Seems that only those with a modicum of intelligence have figured out how to use the open chat channells...though thats a good thing, so they aren't spammed with moronic drivel like they post here.
On subject, yes, I'm sick of the loud and obnoxious minority from both sides making the rest of the groups look bad.
