I doubt it. The Tabula gameplay was not exactly the type of game that was condusive to a sci fi storyline. Not enough PEW PEW going on.
eh? You sure you're thinking about the right game? The entire game was "pew pew", 99% of it was spent running around a massive battlefield and blowing s**t up with other s**t being blown up all around.
If anything, it had too much "pew pew" and not enough of everything else.
Anyhow, to the OP:
There is nothing like TR. It was one of the best designed "environments" to play in, it just felt so alive with sounds and sights of battle, very immersive from that standpoint. It had some other issues, but i really do wish it was still around
I don't think there is anything even close to it.

I take it you didn't play the game? Because pretty much all it was was PEW PEW non-stop. At least in Beta. That was one thing they did very well...creating a real sense of a war raging around you at all times. I didn't sub at launch due to other drawbacks in the game, but lack of PEW PEW wasn't one of them.

Agree. Pew pew was enough, but every thing else lacked and there was no real sense in playing when you reached the lvl cap.
I agree that it had enough PEW PEW. But honestly they didn't have enough enemies. They were all just variations of the same enemy pretty much unless it was wildlife. The game was fun until level 30. Then it just got old. I don't think there are any games that are like it, unless you count Global Agenda, but that isn't really an open MMO its just instanced dungeons and pvp.
In fact it was pure joy just to log in and grind. Yes, grinding was simply fun because the gameplay was active not passive like in 99.9% of MMOs
The game lacked in everything else. Story , world , variety of enemies, crafting...etc
But it was something that could be fixed.
Having bad gameplay on other hand can never be fixed.
Agree
Tabula Rasa for me had the best combat gameplay of most MMORPG I have played including it's animations and how enemys and creature's spawned into the world, there was story how ever is wasn't really deep where it really could have gotten allot deeper with the logo's, they could have meant allot more then what they where.
I keep saying the following in many of Tabula Rasa discussions and that's if only SWG NGE would have been tabula Rasa combat/animations with the rest of what SWG was, SWG would be alive and kicking more then I suspect it is right now.
Hopefully one day someone will make a in depth MMORPG with a touch of what was good in Tabula Rasa with what was good in other MMORPG to give it that MMORPG depth.
Oh and to answer OP's question as someone else mentioned already Global Agenda might be somewhat like it tho pretty outdated compared to what Tabula Rasa was in many way's. Atleast that's what I felt when playing GA.
