How do I talk to another player in game?

MikeMossMikeMoss Member UncommonPosts: 66

Hi

I just came back a few weeks ago and I'm having trouble communicating.

If another player is standing near me and I want to talk to him how do I connect.

I was trying to do this the other day and just couldn't figure it out.

I had him selected but could find no option the message him.

I'm used to having a right click drop down in most games that asks me if I want to send him a message etc.

Mike

If you shoot a mime, do you have to use a silencer?

Either /say [text] or /tell [nick] [text]. First will put a little chatbox over your head like a comic, the second will send a direct message.

How;s your time in Hyboria treating you otherwise? :)

    Hi

    I'm having a blast.

I started a new character for the expansion and have him up to level 31.

I'm finding the Necromancer fun to play and a lot less button mashing then my Ranger character.

Does the Necro ever have any combos?

    The game runs great now.

I'm running DX 10 with everything maxed out and still get 60 to 80 fps most of the time.

Once in a while I have been seeing some server lag in the new areas.

    60 to 80 fps?? What the... I need a new rig :-(

Ah well, I got 40 fps with DX10 and settings high, which is not bad while in Khitai. No crashes, only the occasional lag spike, so it's good. But 60-80 means you don't even have to downtune when the fighting gets really crowded and intense, nice image

    Glad to hear it Mike!

Necro (and all mages) never do combos. You will get enough abilities after a while that they will fill up your hotbar, but I have always found that 0-1 and f1-f6 (I bind those for the left hand side hotkeys) are plenty.

You are getting really good FPS in dx10, that for sure! There is still a bit of optimization to be done in the new zones, but getting better with each patch.

Necro is a lot of fun. I have a bunch of alts, but the two characters I play most are my Conq and my Necro.

    Hi

I just got a new Falcon Northwest computer a few months ago and it just blows away anything I've ever had.

I've had a lot of computers (I started out with Dos on a Tandy computer) but this one beats anything.

My last computer was a Dell XPS and it was really a  dud.

I tried  the new one out on WOW and saw over 220 fps.

I use my computer for my graphic design business ( I’m pretty much retired but this makes it deductable ) and it even make Adobe Illustrator run fast.

Well time to log in to the game  for a few minutes before I have to hit the sack.

Do you guys playing casters in AoC really enjoy it? One of the big draws to the game for me was the melee combat. However, whenever I try to play a caster I get so bored. I've had  a lot fun on my melee characters, casters are just like any other mmo for me though.

It's a nice break from swinging steel around once in a while.

Some of the casters are actually kinda unique and fun to play....Necro and HoX especially, IMO.

My necro I can play while I'm eating, since I can do it all with one hand (I have a Razer Naga mouse).

Falcon NW makes good machines. Personally, I prefer to build my own, since it's fun, and a lot cheaper.....but not everyone has the tech know-how, I realise. Falcon NW is a decent choice in that case, IMO.

Not so fun for someone with a crappy computer however, all the pets are rather bad on creating lag.

And I have some bad memories myself of pets obscuring the view in battles. But fun to solo with.

I prefer the ranger, one of the harder classes but if you use some tactics rather good.
