It's not the case anymore, but yeah, it kinda killed the point of decorating the house. We'll see what they do this time. Its supposedly something else than "mog house" in which you stored your equipment and changed jobs (it's not needed this time, all happens on the field) so they'll add some other function to them.

Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

I played on the europ server, and around 1999 till 2002 there were only a few ways to get a house.

The cheapest and hardest way was Idoc house hunting.

The expansive way was to have a lot of money, even the smallest house still was expensive, or real money on Ebay.

I had some veteran friends who new when most houses got idoc, so they told me the place and then I got on the hunt. It was actually exciting and fun. And I did place a house, it actually was crowded on that place that night, so I was surprised I placed the house.

On the moment such house collasped, you had to place it. Some times I waited around 6 hours, and sometimes it was only a few hours. Sometimes it collasped when you just got a drink for yourself. And the most irritating moments were when a house was refreshed by it's owner.)  They just did that for fun, and laughed at the idoc hunters. (Usually people with more accounts)

I really hope for a good system, for all I care they create housing zones, were you need to load (they had that in DaoC a few years after release) , so you can walk around the houses and see other houses.

I always thought they should have created such a thing in FFXI, that when you go to the MH, instead of going to your house, you first come into the housing area, and then walk to your house.

Or the EQ2 way, that in some inn you can get a MH like house from the start, but in the city you could buy houses, from different kind of sizes and prizes, which cost a lot of money.

And also from the start that you can bring other people in your house, also that you can sit on the chair. In UO we gathered with the guild in 1 house and sat around the table to talk to eachother.

For people who like to actually to Role Play the game, such things can give a more worldly feeling.

And yes I love to RP. I want my character to have a home, and also want to go to the homes of my friends.

It is not a must have, it is just a little wish to make me enjoy the game more.

That right there is the key, I never said they could easily find a good plot or that they could find a good plot at all. I said if they didn't settle it could take awhile. Getting "A" housing plot was never an issue, getting a good one was.

Swamps and Fel as well as many many other not so prime locations had plenty of plots. The problem was no one wanted them so some would settle and start there and move as soon as they could.

Again, Good I said was the problem. If you settled like many new players had to there was no issue. But then again expecting the best plots off the rip seemed to be the mentality of some that decided to go around talking about how they couldn't find any plots and had to buy them off of Ebay or some such site.

Getting a plot wasn't an issue, getting a "Good" plot took time and work :)
