He states damaging things about companies without backing it up. He heavily hints A-net is trying to "trick people" by making a sequel instead of a separate game.
'Heavily hinting' something is not "stating as fact".
Yet he doesn't back up his damaging statements with any proof hint of proof or openly states their opinions.
This is a gaming forum. Unless stated as fact, you should assume everything is just an opinion.
Yes people should but many people don't. It's the exact same arguement as A-net "tricking" people into buying their games not everyone realises that that what your saying is an opinion or that sequels are "different" from the original. You of all people should be aware of that fact.
"Heavily implied" example is merely the most recent one I can find many others where you just plain out right stated it as if it was a fact. Oh yah heavily implied is just as damaging in legal terms.
Let go of the legal angle, dude.

It was a damaging speculation about a companies reputation. At the very least a company could take you to court for that. The judge may or may not aquit you but the company can still take you to court for that.
The point is you don't go around saying crap about a businesses reputation unless you have proof. If you don't you must make it abundantly clear you don't. Heavily hinting is just as damaging as stating it out right.

I'm actually really happy about all the changes. I hated the duel classing. The lvl 20 cap was horrible imho. The fact that high lvl gears only difference was it's looks is again horrible imo. PvP was good so i don't want that changed. Everything else I don't care about, they can change it and do w/e they want. I liked the game but there were so many things i didn't like. if they change it like you're saying, then i'll buy this the day it comes out.

It doesn't matter if a person has personal stock It isn't done because it's wrong and is damging to those actually do work in the company.
It's like asking why do you care about me stealing from that guys house it's not your house. It doesn't change that fact that it's wrong and shouldn't be done.

Exactly my point, completely ignoring the part where I ask you to back up what you said and go for the most meaningless section of a post.
Damaging a companies reputation with no proof is bad it shouldn't be done as it could cost them customers because of misconceptions due to no fault of their own. So you shouldn't do it and you should care if someone does do it.
Same with stealing can cause a lot of financial and emotional damage so it shouldn't be done. It's called principals.
FYI damaging a companies reputation is just as bad as stealing as it can incur a quite substanial loss of sales if it spreads. Much like how rumours can damage an actors career.

I think you are going way overboard here.
An anonymous poster on an obscure website within a forum for a game that isn't out yet hardly has the power to damage a company in any way. This is a place for everyone to have an opinion. We can be wrong. We can make points without facts. When someone makes a claim without facts, everyone else is free to challenge. But can we leave the "damaging a companies reputation with no proof" stuff out of it? I think that's a gigantic stretch.

Spreading a rumour is pretty similar in magnitude. Small things but both can have massive consequences. People should care more about the stuff they say that is actually damaging to a company.
There's a reason you don't see many people say that sort of crap in public. Just because your anonymous doesn't make it right.
Just a short post, not going to sit here all day and explain my reasoning, just gonna give a couple examples. I am a huge fan of GW, but I won't be buying GW2. One of the things I enjoyed the most about GW was that the entire skill bar was my choice, no forced skills at all. Now forced heal and half the skillbar is per weapon? No thanks. Also, by not having a dedicated healing class (and from what I've been reading about gw2, they're against a healer and want players to selfheal) I'm further turned off by this game.
I won't be buying it. I hope the devs see plenty of comments like this and change their mind, but at this stage of the game I'm fairly certain that they're committed to the path they're on. GW is an amazing game. GW2 had potential, but it's getting too far from many of the great things of the original.
Good luck with your game, I won't be buying it at the rate things are going.

There are healer classes there's just more than one as well as extra self heals so that no one class is "needed".

Hmm, I doubt there won't be a healer class. What they're doing with the heal slot is making classes more self-reliant, so they don't completely depend on a healer being present. This ability to self-heal to some degree does not mean that there won't be a place for a healer in a group.. it just means that he won't be absolutely necessary.
Monk was one of the most popular classes in GW and I sincerely doubt Arenanet would alienate such a siezable portion of their fans.
As for the skill bar.. We'll see. It seems that you won't have only skills to pick from this time around but also passive traits which combine with weapon skills. This system may turn out to be as varied as the original one. We'll see.

If all classes can heal themselves - how many are even going to roll healers? I question how often they would get group invitations, as well.
A lot of people on this site have posted about getting rid of the holy trinity, but I have yet to see any alternative beyond 'everyone DPSes the hell out of the target.' Which is dumbing-down the gameplay.
"" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2
With the subtraction of the dual classes, and the first 5 skill slots being deterimined by what weapon you are holding, and then one other going to a self heal. I am in doubt that the customization will be as robust as in GW. Though I honestly think its a better move to tone it down a level. If they take it too far then yes it becomes almost pointless but hard to guess at this point.
As far for the healer role, I am /guessing/ from the interviews and info thats been put out that while there wont be a dedicated healer role. It will turn into a Protection Prayers Monk type of style. So it will still be support class if it goes that route. I wished that they would just release a class list already.

Self heals aren't very effective in pvp unless they cast near instantaneously and can be done often which is far too unbalanced.
They said protting will remain which is actually the only good part of gw1 monking. It took skill and tactics to effectively premptively heal players rather than just pushing red bars up. Every other part of a monk didn't really matter.
I won't be buying it. I hope the devs see plenty of comments like this and change their mind, but at this stage of the game I'm fairly certain that they're committed to the path they're on. You see only the bad side of it and all you want is GW 1.5 ... GW1 with better graphics and more classes
The devs said exactly why they limited the free slots (because of all those possible choice of GW1 only relatively few were usable) they also explained why they cut out dual classes (c'mon there! they REMOVED it out from GW 2 after a long time of testing and consideration, so they probably know why..)
and you forget to see all those possibilities they came up with (such as cross-class combo making,race-dependency, enviromental weapons and item modifications..)
Well it"s not my concern, I'm buying it all the way. I just wanted to give you a hand there...
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them
AS far as GW2 being the successor to the name, it is by lore only, it takes the originals story and runs with it, the game is very different and nowhere have I found Anet denying that, in fact the opposite is true.
I don't like the disappearance of multi classing either. Anet stated that it limited what they could do with racial skills, it's also been clearly stated that classes won't be limited by race, the combination of race and professions at least allows for some complexity, as complex as the original system? probably not.
Raising of the level cap is a whole different story, I love the low lvl cap in GW, a level playing field quickly reached, no need for populations dispersed according to level, populations in GW where initially dispersed according to story progression. We have no idea how these levels will work but we do know that one of Anets guiding mantras is anti grind, they have stated that they want to avoid the typical level based problems. We know very little, it's pointless speculating at all on this one.
Skills : In a recent interview it was mentioned that weapon skills can drop from mobs, if that's the case then logic would follow that we have a choice on skills for our weapons, those 5 slots aren't stagnant, you will have a choice, 5 weapon skills, plus one heal, one elite and 3 of your choosing makes for plenty of choice.
