It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

So whats it like?

You lucky buggers across the pond have it 1st, we Brits have to wait. :(

My main likening towards this game is crafting, but I have some questions regarding it:

Is it a game where I have to keep collecting resources from fallen mobs, or can I go and gather from mines ect?

How does the crafting system work overall?

Also how does the PvP work?

Do you turn red when you kill another player and avoid human contact for ages, or does the Good v Bad work without reprisal?

You can find info on crafting and PvP at their website. I will say this though, crafting doesn't appear to be as complex or time consuming as in L2 but you get more options. You can become an alchemist, an engineer, or a leather worker etc. It's also not limited to one class and there are several secondary skills you can learn (cooking, fishing, first aid).

There are several types of item gathering in WoW; skinning, mining, and herbalism. The one you need depends on which crafting skill you choose and I think most people pick one gathering skill and one main crafting skill. So if you choose alchemy you're best bet would be to choose herbalism so you can gather the plants needed to make potions and poisons.

I've only had experience with lower level herbalism and alchemy so I can't comment on the other skills. It wasn't difficult to make a few simple potions though some plants are more rare than others so you might have to buy them occasionally. The most basic potions require two or three ingredients but I imagine higher level potions take more. I also had to buy glass vials to put potions in but they're pretty cheap. The same is probably true for the other skills so you might have to buy some things in order to make something. They don't intend for players to be totally self-sufficient so you'll still need to trade with other players or buy stuff from NPC's at times.

YAY a crafting system that is close to Ultima Online the only MMORPG i have ever really liked so far.

i am now drawn between 2 games

WoW & EQ2 (dont worry i am not here to cause trouble)

Time to keep reaserching the facts of each game and make a final decision..
