    Hhmmm...

    1) No vendors? Funny, I seem to put myself into merchant mode and sell my wares quite often...

    2) You apparently have NO idea what you're talking about... Invite everyone? How about just setting the default access level of your house to Visitor? Then anyone who cares to come in and check out your stuff can... Can't pick a cool spot for your house? True, granted, you can't just go plop a hourse down anywhere you like, but yeah, thats a good thing, UO anyone? There are however some QUITE nice apartment buildigns and housing areas outside the starter towns if you had bothered lookign for them.

For EQ fans, anything less than what EQ2 did is a failure. EQ1 has 500k subscribers for 5+ years now. For EQ2 to have 200K is a failure to me and I suspect those numbers wil die fast like SWG did.

    LMAO... This look familiar?

There is little doubt how things work as each topic is covered by an npc leading you through a simple quest that 1. gives you an easy explanation on how something works and 2. gives you xp and 3. feels immersive and not tedious chores. I truly enjoyed making my first items as an artisan because there was no guess-work involved. I made something based on tutorial, got some xp, unlocked use of crafting room, and was able to sell the items i made. For combat and movement, the ship was a nice way to intro you to these things without risk of messing up and ending up dead.I only made it to level 6 scout (and level 4 artisan) so far but had fun doing it. It didnt feel like grinding because i was doing quests for npc's. I havent left the beginning player town (didnt pay attention to name) but still didnt even come close to talking to everyone. There's some neat things to try like fishing and swimming underwater. Also the loot isnt bad for newb area. I've been able to loot enough stuff and sell back to an npc to buy a full set of armor for my level (jn just an hr or two). The graphics are truly detailed. I have an AMD 3000, 1 gig corsair ram (3200), 200 gig ata133 drive, soundblaster audigy 2, and a ATI 9600 128 mb video card.... hardly top of the line but graphics still looked pretty good. And amazingly zero lag !!! I was expecting SWG type lag but got absolutely none, no skips, no freezing, nothing but smooth frames.I have yet to experience EQ2's customer service so I leave no judgment from that. However, if the game is as stable as it appears to be, I wont have much need for a csr.

No game's perfect, of course, and some hold more appeal to some people while completely turning off others.

Setting up a shop in your home is easy, and the brokers can locate items in anyone's shop. You have to go to that person's shop to actually purchase the item, giving you an opportunity to show off your great taste in hovel decor. It may not have been quite what you're after, but it's there. I'd like to see player housing that's actually placed in the geography, but I don't know how that impacts the design of zones or the lag or the memory requirements or anything, having never played a game that had that in it. Most of the zones aren't very large, and would certainly have to be redesigned to accommodate a multitude of residences. Instanced housing seems like a smart alternative.

You're right about the lack of diversity in character creation. Special abilities are granted by class and level, with only a few rare special attributes being chosen by the player to tailor his/her abilities. I'd have liked the chance to choose between a variety of abilities, deciding for myself what some of my strengths and weaknesses would be. I'd like more variety in my character's appearance as well, with different styles of leather armor instead of just one model/pattern for instance.

Yeah wondered how long before dear old 44 starts moaning as usual.

By the way where do people get this numbers of 200k from?I doubt any mmorpg that is under 2 weeks old will give numbers out as its totally pre mature.

I'm glad you're having fun playing WC3 and/or WoW. Please, for the sake of our community, don't come play EQ2 whatever you do.
