Pet class?

in Final Fantasy XIV

I don't seem to be able to get an immediate answer for this so I wanted to ask. Is there any pet classes in FFXIV?

I see the conjuror and my first thought was that it might have been a pet class a la EQ2s conjuror, but the info is a little light.

Can anyone give me a quick answer?

    There are no pet classes planned for launch, however they may add some in the future, say in the first expansion.

    In fact to add to this, they are planning to add new classes in normal updates, not expansions.

    So anytime after the game goes live, we might get one.

    I wouldn't really rush to make one though. It's important to get it right from the start, it's hard to tweak it later if game mechanics and playstyles see a significant, yet unforeseen change.

    Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".
