Change take time, sometimes there need to be some kind of revolution for it to happen.

Why change when you can make millions of dollars by doing the same thing over and over since people will preorder and buy the same thing over and over, and then complain about it as they do it again.

Sounds like a good reason to never change anything.

Exactly. We MMOers, as an aggregate, dont deserve decent, original, well maintained MMOs.

Modern MMO a disgrace?  You made a thread now explain your point of view.  If by disgrace you mean lack of content or modern MMO graphics then your seriously not been paying attention to MMORPG's. Graphical wise you got AOC, then for content you got many newer MMORPG offering extreme content.

Please explain what you mean by disgrace. Cause that is such a broad range, not everyones idea of disgrace in this sense is the same.

Changes didn't use to take time. Back when the genre was thriving there'd be rich, original and extremely different MMO titles being released several times a year, usually backed by big companies. Now if you want to see anything new, it has to come from some poor indy company desperately trying to pull together their ambitious ideas.

Well, the past several big MMOs that tried that didn't end so well. They went bankrupt. But they made good initial box sales off the hype machine.

When is a big company going to make a real virtual world MMO again?
