I did pre-order, but didn't see any perks for preordering. Lately games have given different perks depending on where you preorder, including beta access, early start, in-game items, etc. I wonder if GW2 will offer any of these.

I'm sure they will have some sort of bonus man.
Could be merchandise such as minitures or something even.
Interesting to see if they offer beta acess.
That's what they did for Aion (and I know they're different, I'm not comparing, just saying ^^)
I expect miniatures etc will be for a a collector's edition, rather than simply a pre order
This isn't being released for like a year right?
Yeh I agree actually.
Is GW2 that far along? I didnt think that the game had been around that long.
No idea yet, they havent set any form of tentative release date yet. Hopefully less than that (supposing everything is done properly, and not rushed). Don't want to have to wait another year or more for it.
You can bet if they are letting people play it in August, it is very close to being done. ANet is kinda funny that way. Normally no one is allowed to touch one of thier games publicly until all that is left to do is balance the skills and a few minor tweaks to a few of the quests. I am crossing my fingers that GameStop, Newegg and a few other sites are correct, November 2nd or 3rd. How many people noticed that for the first time all the game shops are posting the same date?
You don't remember the Beta Preview Events (this one exclusive for pre-orders), E3 for Everyone and the other public GW event, right? Each of these featured drastic changes, including whole systems being removed/added.
I just hope they make some kind of public event like those, hopefully at PAX
Anyway regarding preorders no they haven't announced perks as they didn't even announce a release date, but there will be definitely perks including the head start and some kind of beta access (again, I do sincerely hope they host some really open public event).
