Hi, is this game going to need an insane rig to run it?

So I saw the minimum system reqs for this game and I meet them, the thing is from what I am hearing from ppl in beta, you need a pretty damn good rig to run the game smoothly. As of now the only concern I have with my rig is my video card, I have a ATI Radeon 4850 1GB. Since this card is somewhat dated, I don't expect to run the game at max settings, I just want to make sure I can run the game smoothly before I pre-order it. I wish they would lift the god damn NDA already being so close to launch and all so I can get some more honest info about the damn game from testers. I read a thread from a beta tester on another forum who said he was trying to run it with the 4850 but it was unplayable due to the low frame rates. This depresses me because I don't have the cash to shell out for a new vid card atm, and I REAALLY want this game! What do you guys think?

Your post has several flaws. You talk about this game as it is the best thing out there, yet you haven't tested it yet.
You speak of other people who BETA tested it, as if it was hard to get into BETA in the first place.

I just wanted to get some tech advice from someone that may know more about the games system reqs than I do, what is so wrong with that? Another thing your post is completely useless and all you are doing is b*tching about what I posted when honestly I was just asking for some advice, why so serious? I never got to test the game because I recently just heard about it within the past couple of weeks and I applied for the beta but I haven't gotten any responses yet saying i'm in, so f'ing sue me. Something wrong with wanting to play a game really badly because it interests you?? i think you should wait an see what ppl are saying in a few weeks the key to the city will start this next week i believe an we'll know more your card should be fine considering the req. of the game but we dont know what that other guy also had running in the background or how high his settings were for sure just hear say
in short we'll know more this week with the key to the city an the preorderd accounts that have got in then with what we've had thus far so dont sweat it

I'm sure you're having a bad day and all, but you should try to read the post with at least a modicum of reading comprehension before pouncing on someone's writing.
He post does very little to nothing in the way of praising the game, so he isn't talking about it as if it's the best thing out there. In reality he is venting frustration at the variability in statements revolving around the use of his current graphics card. Saying he really wants to play it, even when really is written in a way to mimic his excitement, does not imply that "it's the best thing out there."
To the OP: I don't have an answer to your question. Sorry.

You should be able to run it, however the beta was extremely laggy and demanding on my system which more than meets the requirements. I would just risk it, buy it at release at hope for the best.

back to the OP: I would imagine if the minimum req's say you can run it with your current card then you should be able to but remember that the minimum requirements are exactly that - MINIMUM requirements so running the game and running the game smoothly are very different. If you cant save up enough cash to upgrade then my best advice would be make sure you dont have anything else running while playing and hope for the best. oh and save some cash cuz that card is pretty dated
Hey thanks for the advice, yea I think i'll play it safe and wait for more information once that key of the city thing starts and see what people have to say about the games stability. Who knows, maybe i'll get lucky and get invited to it so I can test how the game runs on my rig before the release date.
Hey dyermaker, have any advice on a decently priced card to upgrade from my 4850?? Price range from 150-250?? Obviously the cheaper the better. I haven't been following up on vid cards within the past year so I don't really know what budget cards are good these days.

Sorry for caps my keyboard is being weird. anyways some people dont know what they are talking about. i know i dont have the best computer to date. but i have played many of the latest games that *require* a pricey/fast rig. for my experience i have played 99% of modern games on either maximum or High graphics level. all i had to do was turn ***shadows*** off or shading or there is always one setting that i can set to low and leave the rest high and play at a good frame rate. idk if this helps you or not but that has been my experience. if you experiement with the settings enough you can figure out which graphics setting is the one the slows it down but still leave the rest at max
