I agree that the billing site is confusing and extremely non-user friendly with not enough payment methods.
Hello, it's 2010, I do online payments for my toilet paper ffs, how hard can it be to make a simple payment system...
I wanted to reactivate my old account with a game card without buying the expansion, the GC number was accepted but the account stayed frozen for 2 days.
I sent a complaint and got an answer that I had to purchase the expansion first in order to reactivate my account and the game card days would be added after that.
wtf is that all about.
I'm not buying any expansions until I check out the game first, I need to check performance, FPS and what not before I decide to stick with it and purchase expansions.
I guess my coming back ended before it started heh.

The site is somewhat messy but better than some others, SOEs to mention one. It sounds weird that you need to get the expansion for a gamecard, does the gamecard have the name of the expansion on it? Still, you should think a gamecard should be good for both people with the expansion and without.
I'm surprised at all the assertions here that FC's payment system is "wonky" or whatever. Since release I've never had a problem with it. Then again I always read and read again what I'm clicking onscreen before I'm about to pay out any money to any company online.
I've seen a few of these threads now and they always start with an initial screw up from the customer and not FC. Sure, you can complain about the service you receive while they're trying to clear up your mistake, but you can't blame the payment system itself.

The only real problem with the payment system in my opinion is that it doesn't ask for confirmation when you buy stuff, but if you want to cancel stuff or delete your CC info you always is asked if that is something you want to do. For people who have a native langauge that isn't english or isn't supported by Funcom reading and understanding english isn't always as easy as I feel it is. The payment system could be improved by adding boxes you had to click to accept a purchase just like you do with removing CC info. and then the entire problem would be solved.

None of the Automated systems are perfect. if not in situation like this then other.still it WAS a user error(even if your friends),
so what now? nothing is lost.
you email them from your account page,explain your situation in civilised manner,give it a couple of days (especially on weekends) and voila,all will be sorted out.
