A video would have been cool. An article longer then most of the comments would have been nice as well.
On a side note, so they have a few classic classes, from what it sounds like they will have a few new ones too. To not have any old classes would almost be alittle disapointing. A game doesn't have to be 100% innovative to be a succesful game, it just has to have a few innovations to be a new experience and feel fun to play. It sounds to me like most people crying about these old classes need to try a new genre of game all together because there is always going to be a few old cookie cutter aspects in every new mmo. The reason is that they work, and as the saying goes "If it aint broken, don't fix it."
One reason they also are doing the D&D type classes is to encourage grouping. You can't really say all Fantasy games are the same. They may have the stereotypical Wizard or Barbarian but WOW is predominantly a solo game till the raid part whereas EQI back in the day was a group centric game with little that was soloable. To bring that Vanguard/Old EQ style of play back that requires a group would also require the group to be similiar. I suppose you could call him a Woodsman instead but would it really matter?
If you want your game to stand out, don't use one of the most stereotypical classes as a teaser. Better yet to add more info on rifts and why your game stands out.

This rift system reminds me of the gauntlet type games of the '80's , hundreds of nest spawning mobs to obliterate in order to shut them down.
Guess the classes are gonna always be archetypal D&D stereotypes in most fantasy games though.
Lets face it, the wizard or ranger types are always the most popular choices especially since a certain book to film rendition earlier this decade :P
