WoW came before Everquest and Everyquest 2, I have been playing MMO damn near all my life so no one can tell me WoW was not first! I am full of bs on that one hahaha. Anyway seriously this copy from WoW need to just cease the hell up because it is really messing up the MMORPG community and given the new mmorpg gen the wrong message and so they flock with the rest of the WoW cult.
Are you guys fucking serious? no one said anything about how kickass the graphics look and the body scope, is this really happening? the only thing I notice was a post about "another WoW copy of a hunter " nowdays an mmo can look damn good but the wow head fans don't even notice it, what a damn shame. I like WoW, it is a good MMO to some point, I have 3 level 80s and I have been off wow for a year because I got sick of it and wanted something more kick ass and so I got Age of Conan and that mmo is better!
Elven archers with companion pets.. seems like I've seen this before somewhere...
I swear are they even trying anymore?
"Hey kids, like playing a hunter in WoW? Come play a Ranger in our game!"
Jesus....
I could say the same thing about WoW. Guess who "invented" ranged pet classes in an MMO? Oh yea, it's called DARK AGE OF CAMELOT. Ever heard of the "Hunter" in daoc before? WoW literally RIPPED the hunter class from DAOC. So stop and check yourself before you start comparing this game to WoW.
This game looks more of a copy on UO + Daoc.....which I like the looks of it, however I'm still madly sceptical given my past with Alpha/Beta testing only to see the game burn in an eteranl hellfire once they pickup a publisher.
Which is exactly the reason I left WoW. It's now home to way too many spoiled, immature and ignorant people, that frankly don't have a clue in life. Kind of like anything else that becomes mainstream, I guess.

I agree. No hunters in Rift. No mages, either. No warriors. Been there, done that a thousand times. No priests, necromancers, warlocks, paladins or rogues. In fact, enough already with the elves and orcs and things with heads and arms legs and stuff. I mean, seriously; it's like every mmo has creatures with a mouth. What copy cats.
Let's REALLY create unique fantasy. Let's do phased, formless, asexual color-based races who do battle with phonetics and music.
Crap, that's a bard. Making MMO's is haaaaard!
Sir, you've just won funniest reply ever. You are the Michael Jordan of forum posters. I'm now intending to use this as the quote in my sig (hope it fits).
Strider or Aragorn or whatever from Lord of the Rings (you know the book!?!?) was a Ranger long before D&D and he didn't have any pets. Well, he had a horse... BTW written between 1937 and 1949 - where as D&D was 1974.
I'm sure there are plenty of ways to do a Ranger that don't involve using long ranged weapons and having a pet.
I tend to think of Rangers as being more stealthy rogue types, part tracker and part scout. Not a stand up archer with a pet.
The Dunedain of the North rode sturdy rough-haired horses, wore helmets, and carried shields. They fought with both spears and bows.
BTW good job missing the fact I've been playing MMOs since before most of you kids probably got rid of all your baby teeth.
Actually the 1st game to have a hunter pet class was the old Neverwinter Nights mmorpg done by AOL that ran from 1991-1997 so you sir are completly wrong when you say DAOC wad the 1st. To quote you" Stop and check yourself" L2research before you make yourself look dumb.
If they are going to rehash a pet class at least make it the EQ1 Beast lord
That was a pet class I loved. And Ranged Pet class... hmmm EQ1 Magician? That was very much a ranged pet class even if it was spells rather than arrows.
Seriously, this is why I want GOOD Sci-Fi mmo's rather than fantasy, because fantasy is so overdone -nothing- is new anymore. At least with sci-fi the 'nothing new' can still seem and feel fresh and unique.

Easy now, you're 26 years old, hardly considered a wise old age, in my eyes. Oh and one more thing, the gentleman you were calling a kid earlier, claims he is 39. You may want to do a little research yourself, before you start calling others kids while acting old and wise, at the age of "26".
The valid point some people are trying to make that you seem to be missing, is the fact that when a new game is in development or has been released, the first thing that the typical WoW fanboy will notice is anything that remotely resembles their game. It's not how fantastic the graphics may be, how fluid or smooth gameplay is, or even how good that particular game's combat mechanics are, etc., etc. All these fanboys will say was pretty much exemplified by the comment you made to kick off this jovial little thread.
I prefer the way FFXI did it with the Ranger being a true ranger and Beast Master being the one that can tame animals to fight along with. WoW joined both together, while I enjoyed playing a Hunter in WoW I would of prefered the FFXI way since they tended to be more melee even if it was weak melee, was never a big fan of the Ranger hence I went BST.

I'm waiting for the noobs to say something like WoW came before everquest too...

Just wondering if anyone of you WoW fans or anyone here seen any youtube vids on RIFT?
WoW was NOT the first MMO, you kids need to get that crap out of your heads.
Again nice FAIL on reading the fact I've been playing MMOs since before you lost all your baby teeth kid.
Here's a hint! Look to the LEFT of my post at my join date and little history of games!
Can you see it now?
I know more about this genre and it's history then you know about your individually named pre-pubescent facial whiskers.

Your fail comment, failed.
