5 Fundamental Tips for the Nub in MO

1)  Hit "H" for help.

That ugly-as-sin interface has a lot more information than it seems at first.

2) Nighttime:

Nighttime ain't a joke.   On a cloudy night, or while in the jungle, nighttime gets VERY, VERY DARK.  Unlike most MMO's where nighttime is a slightly different color tint, the day/night cycle changes the gameplay immensely here.  Stay on the lit paths until you know the terrain, don't forget your torch, and watch where you walk.

3) Water:

Water ain't a joke either.  Without swimming skills, your stamina will drain quickly;  your armor will weigh you down, your loot could make you sink like a rock.   It's very possible to drown if you're not careful, and nothing is worse than watching your character's arms flailing madly as you try to claw your way up to the surface.

4)  Don't be afraid to fight!

There's no shame in fleeing, unless your playing a video game... then it's pretty shameful.  To that end, don't be afraid to PvP a bit, even if it's just in rags with your noob sword. After a few fights you'll get to know the combat system better, which will - if nothing else - allow you to better flee in the future.  Also, you'd be suprised how many would-be gankers back off as soon as your draw your sword and make it clear you're not gonna turn your back and make it easy on him.

...and last, but not least:

5)  Don't trust anyone.

See that cute topless elf chick that's RP'ing in the forest, reading poetry to the trees?    She'll kill you as soon as you turn your back.   Blue flags DON'T mean "safe", it just means they're not efficient enough PK'ers.

Come back for more when thievery gets re-implemented.. that's a whole 'nother list.

Any other players have additions?

Also, find a guild, the game is great, but it is not very solo friendly right now until player vendors come in so the economy can jump start.
