Depends if you want the quality of a pay to play game, or if you prefer the quality of a free to play game based on a simplified but graphical version of the old D&D pen and paper game.
How much does this game cost? Im looking for a good game too but under a $10 monthly budget. Also are there many bots here? cuz I hate those scumbags really bad. sorry for barging in on your thread OP. Just want to get some info too.
Well, the sub is around 10$, give or take (I don't know rightly). I play it off and on for free, and just save up the favor from questing to unlock other things. It adds up over time and you can get *something*, but you'll never get it all. So i recommend just waiting till later on and spend it on high-level content. Otherwise the unlockable zones will run about 3+$ each and stick to your account, not character,
~and there is no bots beyond goldselling spammers in early hub zones. If you think there are open zones to constantly grind respawns with bots, well, you haven't done your research to how zones in this game operate.

You can sub for 15 a month, like any other P2P, but you can also get by just fine on 10 or less a month. Just be smart about what you spend the points on. Dungeons are the best investment, as they offer more areas to quest in.

Heh, quality of a P2P game. That is so very funny...

Quality in my sentence was a term of degree. I wasn't saying that the current crop of mmo's are of "high quality." I just meant that in comparison to f2p mmos, the p2p are of a higher quality, although not necessarily a high quality.

I totally agree with this statement.

Oh, I don't think you can lump all F2P games into one "low quality" bucket. Some are good and some are not so good. IMO, games like Darkfall, AoC, and Fallen Earth belong far below a game like DDO on the quality ladder. The only thing AoC has going for it is that its visually beautiful (except for character models, which are LOTRO fugly).
I agree that there are more F2P games on the lower end of the list than P2P games, but making blanket statements about a certain type of game makes one sound intolerant, somewhat fanatical, and narrow-minded.

Generally speaking, when making posts on the internet people try to get their message across using as few words and sentences as possible. In order to save everyone time, you can assume that most "blanket statements" as you called it are not intended to be literally blanket statements. I didn't mean that every p2p is of higher quality than f2p, but that is so obvious that I didn't want to waste everyone's time by buffering my post to point that out.
I'll go ahead and call it right now. You can assume that there are exceptions to most blanket statements on the internet, and you can assume that the poster knows about those exceptions. Let's all agree that the exceptions exist so everyone doesn't have to point out that exceptions exist in every single post ever.
Oh and for those same reasons, calling my post "intolerant, somewhat fanatical, and narrow-minded" is, coincidentally, intolerant, somewhat fanatical, and narrow-minded of you.

There are lots of players playing f2p, it doesn't mean that it's a low quality, how can you say that if you enjoy the game, I used to paly f2p games and I'm satisfied with it....

I guess that depends on what YOU think after downloading the game and playing it, huh?
IMHO, I would say yes. DDO (again IMHO) is far better than any of the other games out there, P2P or F2P.

Oh my goodness, the brilliance never ends.
Not all f2p games are low quality. Not all p2p games are of high quality. We know.
