Weird problem regarding caracther log on

in Everquest II

i noticed that the server i am playing on is down at the moment thats not a big problem just boring that i have to wait.

but as i have nothing else to do i figured i was going to have fun testing a few diffrent caracther build while i wait, the weird thing is that when i got to the main menu where i can log on with an exsisting caracther, the 4 hours i played last night haven't been registerd, i got to quenyos or what ever it's called, just got my citizenship and im lvl 7, but the caracther on the log in screen was level 1 and still on the far journey.

is this because the server is curently down and it's just temporary or do i have todo the begining all over again?

    When the server is down other people have had this problem too. Your character is there, and you have not lost any XP. It's just an issue with the character select screen when the server is down.

    thanks for the info, seems my caracther was moved to an other server, probobly something to do with the fact that they shut down the server i created the caracther on :)
