So I was interested in trying this game out. I was a City of Villains fan and here's a game that lets you be a hardcore villain. So I grab a key and a copy of the installer...
My system doesn't meet minimum requirements for processor and RAM. Now, the processor I can understand to an extent. It's a 2.6 GHz 64-bit single core, after all (which runs most games just fine BTW). But the game requires more than 2 gigs of RAM, too? Now, that's getting a bit silly.
Rule #1 of MMOs: if you want your game to have a massive population, your system requirements can't be massive. Vanguard will forever stand as a prime example of hardware requirements forever limiting your population.
[Mod Edit]
I may take a second look at this game after I upgrade my rig, but by then we're talking TOR so probably not.
Good luck and have fun!

Yeah... I guess that's massive huh?
I have 2 gigs, can run it fine in 1680-1050 resolution. Loading times while switching zones are very very slow however. Would recomend 3 gigs for anybody looking to play this game.
You should still be able to play it. I failed the ram test only (i had 1,999gb lol). Still let me install and well almost play. I was burdened with the Error 8 message, with 0 help from the community or support from release til this morning when I uninstalled. Tried every solution possible from the forums which are pretty weak and full of jerks.
So that was my experience.

I second this. The forums are not only a pain to post to or respond to, but also full of idiots straight out of /b. I finaly figured out the problem and it's this.
"System does not meet requirements"
It's a general error message whenever the loader fails. Doesn't matter what the problem with the engine while it is loading happens to be, it will ALWAYS give this error message.
I tested a bunch of different ways to attempt to fix the errors I was getting (that you can view in the launcher logs) and no matter what error the launcher logs said caused the launcher to fail, it always displays the system requirement alert box.
Come to find out the actual error I had with the game was due to a group of textures not being downloaded or error'in out.
Since you have to redownload through the launcher to reinstall, I plan on not wasting 7 hours to redownload and fix the game.
It's really sad cause I have been looking forward to this game for a long time, even the music soundtrack is pretty kickass. But I guess I'll wait until its f2p or I buy the boxset after the initial bugs are worked out.
"Yea, I've been drinking again.."
The system reqs are for about a $450 desktop. I wouldn't call that egrerious.
My System Doesn't Meet Minimum Requirements
That's what she said.........
It is not a matter of the hardware, it is a matter of the launcher itself giving errors and using a catch all alert event.
The only issues anyone would have with this game would be with the graphics adapter and how the game runs, like CrimeCraft runs like shit on older graphic cards that don't support certain features.
But that is not going to cause the game to not load.
If you actually look at the source code of how the launcher and engine run this game, you would see that during the start process the program auto conforms it's graphic settings based on the hardware of the system it is being run on.
It just doesn't have a good way of notifying the user that an error occured...
And if you looked at the patch notes from today you will see that they did fix some nvidia physx crashes, so I would recommend anyone that has a requirement error to run the launcher again, or post thier launcher logs. Although posting them on APB's forums is pointless as half the time you can't post of reply with more then a sentence...

I got the same thing when I installed however Error 8 message means the servers are offline probably maintence or something I haven't played in two days. Also the load times for the zone switching is mainly server side everyone has them some a little longer than others but it generally takes from 40-60 seconds sometimes 2 minutes in odd occasions. I will say i'm somewhat disappoint so far but I expected as much the zones are rather small i expected them to be bigger based on them only have 2 of them. I definately will be doing the game time payment plan when i feel like taking a break for playing LotRO and just shooting things.
