Overclocked my 9550 stable at 3.4ghz and my 5850 at 775 core, 1125 mem.
Low: 5281
High: 4200
Low res seems to draw on all 4 cores while the high res taxes the gpu to its fullest (60%-98% load). Again the scores don't mean so much... just trying to tweak my rig for my own enjoyment.
It's only using 0%-22% GPU load according to GPU-Z (most of my games use 60%-100%). Which is horrible, almost like it's software rendering. Not only that but is only using one core. However, loading seems to be multithreaded, so that does leverages multiple cores.
This test is horribad.
Are you using a nVidia or a ATi graphics card?
I have been trying to get a moderator to sticky this thread but it seems that they just don't give a shit.
All those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
I'm fine with my computer running the game at 3000. On the official website they say if you can run the benchmark from 2500-3000 you can play on the default settings, which is fine by me. I'll probably get it for the PS3 also when that's released, mostly getting it for my PC cause I don't want to wait until next March. Hope you can play the game with a gampad again but if not I have my wireless keyboard/mouse and new ATI 4850 card for HDMI/sound for my TV. Even if my new video card isn't that much of a jump in the benchmark I'll be happy with where I'm at. I think anyone over a 2500 should be fine ^.^
I just installed my ATI 4850 512 card and my score dropped a little. With my Nvidia 8800GT I was getting 3062 and with my new ATI card I'm getting 3010. I don't really mind since I can still use it for my HDMI/TV setup when I get FFXIV but I thought it would do some what better than my older Nvidia card . Maybe when ATI comes out with newer drivers it will score better, I had to use the older ATI drivers 10.5 since the new 10.6 ones make the benchmark crash.
Read the first page of posts and got bored, so maybe someone has already made this statement. I see alot of ppl saying how high they think th requirements are for the game and all that jazz. But if anyone remembers when EQ2 first came out, alot of ppl where just then getting the Nvidia 6800 cards and ealry 7000 series. I got like 10 FPS with average specs and flora turned off with my 6600GT. Seems like this FF will follow in that direction. Which if you stick with middle of the road equipment like I do, it will work out just fine in the end.
It seems as long as you have a decent CPU, it really just comes down to the GPU. I just tested my old 8800GTS 640 and found a direct correlation.
Stock speed 513mhz yielded 1220 on high
OC speed of 622mhz yielded 1480 on high.
That is a 21% overclock resulting in a 21% increase in score. Makes me wonder if the actual frame-rate increased at the same percentage. Are others seeing this result?
A little disappointed at the scores since other high graphic games play well on this system without OC, with one exception: GTA IV. GTA was a console game with a lousy port to PC. I'm hoping SE is going to put the effort into optomizing this game that Rockstar failed to do with theirs. Its been stated that they are a console company, but there is big reward potential if they can pull off a cross-platform game. Just give us LOTS of video options plz!
I'm disappointed. I have a GTX 295 and my score is just 3500. I bought this GPU for around $500 6 months ago and it was the best in the market. Check it out:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
8GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series X2 (I have dual video card)
I got just over 3000 score on low. I assume it was this low due to my graphics card, can anyone confirm?
If I was to purchase something like a Radeon HD 5770 1GB, how much would this increase my score?
Are you running the benchmark so it'll use both cards? If not, you're getting way less than you should. Unless that's a really low end 4800, it doesn't sound like it at that score, no a 5770 would be a DOWNGRADE in performance. But you need to find out EXACTLY what that card is, 4890, 4870 etc. 4800 isn't specific enough at all.
To get the benchmark running in fullscreen taking use of both of you cards follow these instructions found at ffxivcore, and remember you have crossfired cards.
Howto run FFXIV Benchmark with multi GPUs:
Go to folder FFXIVBenchmarkdata
Rename FFXivWinBenchmark executable to 3DMark06 for CrossFireX ( Crysis for SLI )

I followed your instructions to try to get the benchmark to use both CPU's. I had to download some additional .dll files that it asked for (errors), but to be honest, visually it has never run so smoothly, but it still ended up with the same score (just above 3000).
I am using dual monitors, is this the reason that it is only using 1 GPU still? When I goto my ATI catalyst control center, I don't even see the option for Crossfire technology in there, when it should be if I am not mistaken.
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I don't know very much about GPU's.
So you renamed the file in the data folder to 3DMark06? And you got the dll and put it in the same folder? Game runs fullscreen now?
In CCC you open it up, click on graphics in the top left, and crossfirex should be like the last option under it. Should be a box showing "enable crossfirex", and it should be checked.
Other than seeing my score increase, I'm using GPU-Z on my second monitor to make sure both cards are working. You can download that program, run two instances of it, have one card being monitored per program, and look at the "sensors" tab. If GPU load stays at 0% for one of the cards during the benchmark, crossfire isn't working.
Oh and *Edit* I looked it up, 1 v 1 your cards are weaker than a 5770. Crossfired, and with a game that supports crossfire, they are always better, between like 10-50% more frames(rarely even bigger gains).

Yeah the benchmark runs in fullscreen now.
In CCC, there is absolutely no option to enable crossfire at all, so that is likely my problem there. I will have to do some research as to why that option is not showing up.
Also, any idea if FFXIV will support crossfire, or is that still to be determined?
To be determined if the full game will use. I hope they don't screw up with the technical details. The controls already have me worried as given the choice, I want (good)keyboard + mouse for a mmo regardless of how good a pad works, I expect to see the 30fps cap taken away and dual gpus are too common to be completely left out. Info is tight though, or non-existant.
Go download and install the latest catalyst drivers from ati.com Otherwise I don't know why you aren't seeing any options. How long have you had both of those cards?

I have downloaded the latest drivers, didn't work. I also tried the drivers from dell (it is a dell computer), didn't work.
I have had both the cards since I first bought the computer from dell. That was about a year ago.
It is getting pretty frustrating, but I am doing more research to see if there any solution.
PS. I forgot to note that when I went into CCC, I went under the graphics hardware information and it lists one of the cards as the "Primary Adapter" and the other as "Disabled Adapter"...so there is definitely something wrong.
I finnly broke 4k on high with alil bit of Oc on my end your CPU has alot to do with the score 200 mhz give roughyl 150-200 more score on phenoms 2 940s i cant go any higher becomes unstable with this mobo. sitting at 3.4 cpu should be able to do 3.8 easly stupid mobo

4765 on high settings, not to shabby if I do say so myself. If you want to see my system click on my xfire.

Not bad for no OCing or crazy CPU.

Anyone knows what's wrong with my system?
Here's my system specs:
CPU: i7 860 2.8GHz
Graphic: Nvidia 290 GTX
RAM: 6GB DDR3 PC1333
MOBO: MSI P55-GD80
OS: Windows 7 64bit
And OC is enabled by the motherboard.
Looks about right to me. An I7 @ 2.8GHz and a GTX275 core (the other core isn't being used by the benchmark).

I ran the benchmark and the score gained 1100 points! This brings my new total to 4100.
The weird thing is, at the end of the benchmark where is lists your system specs, it showed only 1 video card, while before it showed 2...why?
Because it's borked and should have never been released.

Sounds like a pretty high end graphics card setup with a more middle-ish processor.
