ok so its not really a flame but i sure wish i had wised up and saw a linking thread to this one out there before purchasing STO to "give it a go" about a week ago after playing and giving up in beta... i find and read this thread that got me interested.
I download the trial and find all you guys are .. well.. very correct. After a couple of days getting used to the controls, i am having a BALL. love the immersion, the story so far, and even the graphics, since my gfx card aint the best and this game still looks good to me.. and my graphics card isnt smoking!
Sure wish i could get my money back on STO and buy this one, but im sure, thanks to the positve remarks here and the positive game experience im likely gunna have to plunk down the money for it!
One thing tho... i saw a link that had the game for 20 bucks from amazon somewhere.. but in the game its 30 but you get a hat or an ATV.. worth it?

This is an honest question; has the game drastically changed in the past 2 months?
The honest answer is 'no'.
Brought the game, like alot of it except the fact there's no EU server, pvp's not that good when your ping is around 200+.
oh and vehicles... *sigh*
I will take a look again next year to see whats improved.
Fortunately for you, there is no pvp, so go for it.
