Hello
Serious question here.
How does this game differ from Darkfall?
Is the skill system a grind?
Are the graphics better (they seem like they are)?
Are their instances or is it an open world?
Is the world full of greifers?
What aspect of this game stands out that you like?
Thanks

Way better UI and controls than Darkfall, by God it's leagues better than DF in that regard.
Skills are a grind, but you can maxout the majority in a *day*. No doubt it will still seem like grind though.
The world graphics, day/night and weather effects look great, though I have not personally seen them since I only played in beta. The character models have a bit of 'rough edges', but are otherwise fine, and I appreciate tits like the next man. I can live without the rampant wang though.
No instances.
Full of jackhole griefers.
What stands out the most ot me is the exploration and horse riding. You can find all sorts of cool landmarks, and getting place to place is swift with a horse. Probably the best mounted riding in any game, it feels just right, and even getting kicked off in first-person and seeing your arms lift you up off the ground is very immersive. Combat works well enough too, but you need to have a real weapon to see it work right, the starter axe sucks, so do not base anything on that.

Differ from DFO,
Better less depressing graphics.
Better sound.
Real weather systems.
No skill grind. There are skill caps and you can get all stats to say 75% in one day.
No instances.
Not full of griefers since there are consequences to being a wanker. Unlike DFO going red is serious business. It's similar to DFO but it takes in game time for it to wear off also it's open season on your anus and anyone can kill you for no penalty. You die you lose gear and get a stat loss, you defend yourself and kill the blue attacker and you get more time as a murderer. It actually works unlike the lame DFO system which meant nothing.
I like the freedom and the fact that arse holes are punished and have to be good gamers to be an arse hole. Also the weather system is pretty awesome, PvE is pretty under whelming ATM

I don't think you will get a negative opinion asking about MO here, as it's got its fair share of fans. I'm not one and would think Darkfall is much better than MO, however I would encourage you to wait until they have a free trial and then give it a shot.
The table has turned, a month ago there were alot of hatred toward MO, Now when MO is launched we got more fans who enjoy the game hence more positive respons on these boards than a month ago.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.
If you think a negative opinion is needed (for balance) you could always give it yourself. You've followed it closely enough to answer such basic questions as the OP posed.
From the angst on the official forums, it seems like there's still plenty of hatred towards MO.
Again like I said, I don't think it's worth trying sight unseen, and it would be best advised to wait for a free trial before giving it a shot. I personally think the game is shallow and won't provide any lengthy amount of enjoyment, and DF fills that niche much better... but that's up to you whether you want to spend money on a product that has got so many visible problems (just from their forums) and give it a shot, or wait for the trial.
The smart folks will wait for a trial, especially since I will admit as much, there's not a huge 'grind' in MO, so you won't be far behind if you decide to wait.
Yeah i share his opinion. Ill wait till there is a trial and see how the game is improving over time, but MO can become some competition to DF ( if they dont fuck it up ) in a year or so. Main reason is the lack of grind which is goooood!

Honestly the lack of grind only makes it appealing to try it later -- it doesn't make it as good as DF. Darkfall has sieging, warfare, and a lot more tools to affect the gameworld than MO can even think of. Right now, MO is basically a game where you can place a house at a predefined spot, it means absolutely nothing to have one, and then run around and PK one another constantly. The game mechanics simply aren't there to make the game world engaging, and players continually say that the "sandbox" aspect of MO makes you make up your own content. I find this to be a copout really, as a good "sandbox" provides you the tools you need to affect the gameword.
I think that the game provides entertainment in a Quake kind of way, but not in a really lasting way. When SV adds tools to make the gameworld more whole, more impactful, more driven by players, then it may be a lot more fun. Right now however, it's a poor version of Age of Chivalry Online with worse combat and even more bugs. People have been saying "this patch" will fix everything for almost a year now, and the same problems persist, so I don't imagine they will get sorted in any amount of time soon. And by that time, I would fathom they'd already have gone belly up. Considering the way they decided to ninja charge customers, it's obvious they don't have a care for the longevity of the project, and are trying to make as much cash as possible as quickly as possible.
That was the main reason why i told "could be in one year"
Right now in this state this game is more appealing to me then the never ending grind (korean style) in DF.
Only time will tell us if they will success. But if they manage to make this game long term engaging it will atract a lot of more people then other game, as you dont have to grind your soul out of your body just to start enjoying game.
