LFG for me and my girl to play.

It doesn't have to be a mainstream title or even an mmorph for that matter. I would prefer it to have RPG elements, like something you would see with pokemon or something. Monthly subscription is optional. PVP optional. Farming I would like it to have. Grinding? A little I wouldn't mind.

The only trick is that she has a mac book and it would have to be able to play on that. I was thinking something you could buy a card for and then download it. Any names you could give me that I could check out would be awesome. Thank you.

I'd suggest Wurm, because it has farming, housing, ships, landscaping and tons of stuff to do - but chances are that couples would just fight over leaving the shovel in the wrong place. On the other hand, you could make a sweet virtual summer home someplace, and you never really run out of way to upgrade your surroundings.

Great community too, besides the one troll of the PvE server (who went over to the PvP server last I checked).

Unforunately for Mac pretty much the only options are WoW and Warhammer at the moment.

Thank you for the quick responses. I'll check out wurm. I wasn't thinking of anything so large scale like wow or warhammer, but something I can like download off the internet and play. Unless the majority of those cannot be played on the mac either.

Well I dunno if Wurm will play on a Mac, but it is Java-based, so maybe.

Anyone ever play Dofus? Combat seems kind of boring to me. I never really done turn based. Is it fun atleast?

Maybe you should take a close look at Dungeons and Dragons online, very nice game and it is also f2p .

  • NebulationNebulation Member Posts: 24

Is that for mac? Also does F2P=cheaters rampant?

  • NebulationNebulation Member Posts: 24

Ya that's one of those games you'd have to download bootcamp for. Ugh. Why couldn't she have a PC like a normal person.

First of all I have a Macbook and I highly recommend you have her download Steam for Mac, it rocks and is updated every Wednesday. That being said, there's not much multiplayer action to be had between Macs and PCs or Macs and Macs either. My biggest recommendation would be EvE, but if she's new to videogames or this genre she might be able to curve in better with something like City of Heroes or WoW, both can be played Mac -> PC and you can have a good time with her! If you don't mind shooters Team Fortress 2 might also be a good choice. Some single-player Mac options are Half-Life 2 Episode 2, Torchlight, and Civilization 4.

Good luck with whatever you guys choose!

    Beo

P.S. - When/If she downloads Steam she can go to the Mac page scroll down a bit and there should be little links to Multiplayer Mac games and different ways to organize them.

Guildwars. Perfect game for you to duo, no monthly fee or other junk, just buy it and play. It also have a rather good story, at least Nightfall and EYotN, written by an acceptable fantasy writer (Jeff Grubb, wrote Forgotten realm novels before).

Very little grind, low min spec so the mac should be able to run it with an emulator. It still look ok at least.

The alternative is DDO but you should have 2 friends or so to play with then, DDO pugging sucks.

Thank you for the comments, I'd say we'd play WOW because I have other friends that play that. However, she doesn't like the stigma of WOW and neither do I though I'm willing to try it. It has kept me away for that long.

If the stigma bothers you, then don't bother.  If you can get past that, then you might find a game you'll enjoy.

LEGO Universe.  Not out yet (comes out in 4 months) but it will run on Mac and PC, and is pretty much geared towards family play.
