I like the graphics, what I hate is the lack of gameplay options.
Its a sandbox that give you the option to grind NPCs or roam and gank players.
I have more options in a themepark to be honest.
This game is huge disapointment since its been billed as a 3d UO.

I can mine, log, fish, gather, cook, make weapons, armor, bows, staffs, enchant and transmute... "Farm" enchanting reagents or gold (and worry about factors of finding a low traffic spot, etc), ride around with a buddy looking for people to kill, invade a hamlet and collect all their resources, make a raft (or better) and sail seas and see who I can pick off at sea towers...
Can join a small clan with my friends, and take control of villages to build up some gold (what i'm doing now), or join a larger clan / alliance and take part in seiging, mass PvP and the conquest for holdings.

DAOC had better graphics. That wasnt the issue for me though. The core tenants of the game system in a number of areas are poorly concieved. The end result is, the faithful are blinded by devotion and profess, all nay sayers are heritics, and do not understand the genius of the master plan.
The heretics on the otherhand claim that the master plan is flawed, and that the almighty Tasos decieved them into believing the scriptures which promised "insert your favorite gripe here".
What is truth however is this, the game never had, nor never will have a large following. IF thet fixed the alignment system, the war dec system, fixed the towers so they really offered you protection, policed the hacking, duping and exploiting at large, and GOT RID of all race clans then the game might, just might create a RVR free for all that the game advertised itself as. As it is now it was the only MMO I have ever played in which I removed the game 30 days in with a 6 month sub. Yes, you may consider my sub a donation upon the altar of the "indi" developer. The sad part is, I doubt I will do so again based on my DFO experience.

Obviously in DF you can craft and play around with territory control features.
Btw dude I play Eve I have more imagination in my left pinky toe that five DF fanbois have in their entire bodies together.
Edit: DF was billed as the NEXT UO. If you actually played UO you would know DF offers only about 10% of its features. As a sandbox fan I expected much more. DF is a complete flop when you stack it up against the best sandbox games UO, SWG and Eve.

But the combat is next to none. AV has time to add features but if the playstyle isn't good, it's fucked to begin with.

Played it....quit...came back...realized the graphics are terrible, the game is laggy and the world is an empty bore except for hackers and griefers. Even with the changes I saw no reason to keep going. Another rip-off bore fest IMHO.
Done with it for good.

I have not, repeat HAVE NOT, seen a hacker since they added the anti hack detection, and pretty much shut down that one DC website from adding hacks to the game.
Griefers? ok ya, some are, its a harsh world,but IMHO, more "good" people then the bad, when it comes to newbies at least.
And graphics? lol, this is the biggest fail comment I have ever seen about darkfall, DFO graphics are not know AOC or something, but then again, AOC lags when 30+ people on screen, you can get around 80-100 people on screen at darkfall and still be playable,
you want graphics? go play a game that has the Graphics > Gameplay, Dfo is Gameplay > Graphics, if you can not comprehend that from reading the features, you are not really smart enough to play anyways.

I play this game for the epic battles, and epic loots(mostly for the fighting though). If you really play this game for anything else, well I do not want to get banned again .
But srsly, i play a siege last night, 100+ on screen, was not lagging 1 bit actually, and had fairly good FPS.
Only other FPS I have played that could compare is Planetside, but still PS gets boring, Darkfall has goals and non repeitive combat, did I say meaningful combat as well?

The current MMO market cannot supply a MMORPG with the best graphics without being instanced or lag infested or something ...
