What Are your Thoughts

Is there any hope that Turbine will bring back AC2 with a cash shop?  The sensible part of me says no, but the optimist in me says why not.

Isn't AC a sandbox..? If so, lets hope they'll give AC2 a new try with cashshop like DDO and LotRo soon.

I wanted to try AC a while back myself, but after creating a character, I could not enter the server at all. Each time I logged on to the game, I had to wait for a minute abnd then had a server DC Might be a US <-> EU problem?

I doubt it.  Asheron's Call 2 was my first MMORPG, and I really enjoyed it.  Honestly though, it'd be outdated in today's market.  It'd be nice if they did use some of the same concepts and ideas from it, combined with the income from DDO/LOTRO, to make a new game from it.

I too wish for a chance to play it again, but realistically it just doesn't seem like it'd be a wise business choice for them to do a straight revival.

You be surprised how good AC2 would look like today compare to most todays mmo's the ac2 engine was years ahead of its time.

But i very doub turbine would even concider re-releasing AC2 i think 0% chance.

Honestly, it would have some very relevant concepts.  Ac2 had classes that aren't dupliated in other games, even if they weren't always "perfect".  Ac2 had quests that took on interesting schemes like splitting your party up to accomplish different objectives, action puzzles, like the Dominion ... area, and I even remember one quest where I was jumping on tons of blocks like Mario as they were moving around.

A lot of people would really enjoy the story, too, since evolving storeis are missing from many, many MMOS now. 

The graphics are also still very nice looking in most respects. 

It would be interesting to see it F2P.
