Well this has nothing to do in the game whatsoever. Still, this thread is probably the best thread on these forums. image

It does too...it's a female storm trooper...c'mon now that is totally star wars related.

After thinking about this more I realize that this thread is really a clever thread about how female armor in MMOs is totally unrealistic and far more revealing compared to their male counterparts. There. Now it's on topic... as if anyone actually cared. image

Thanks, I changed the title to help keep the validity of this thread being here.

Yeah, but in the case of Imperial Stormtroopers, being fully armored didn't seem to help them at all anyway. I never once saw a blaster shot deflected by their armor, it always went clean through.

In other words, the reduced coverage of the female variant of Stormtrooper armor shown above probably isn't as much a detriment to its protective qualities as one would initially think.

    I don't see anything.

Under your logic, we should just make them all naked in the game right, men included?

parrotpholk-Because we all know the miracle patch fairy shows up the night before release and sprinkles magic dust on the server to make it allllll better.

Well...just to show you that they dont always die and the armor does help a bit I have found this video for you.  Along with the video I will post two other of my favorite youtube star wars videos.

Makes sense to me. I suspect that 99% of the in game population in this case will be females and that most players will be from AoC though.

iF you were trying to sell boxes to younger males then.......whats a good way to do that: Soft-core nude armor! But yeah it does get a bit LOL at times.

I guess the question would be, who would be angred if my slayer in warhammer online looked like he had a 2 liter bottle of coke in his leathers...."SWTOR, rise of the jewels" expansion due in late 2011.

It'll be a very long time til the visual representation of armor is anything more than an overlay for static numbers.  Armor is eye candy.  For every piece of armor that is visually unrealistic for females because it shows too much skin, there is an equal piece for males that is so inexplicably large or unwieldy that no fool would wear it into battle without toppling in some direction.

In a game, armor represents status because of how it looks more often even than how effective its stats are.  Don't get me wrong players would wear anything if the stats were good enough, but the grumbling would be mighty unpleasant to listen too.  My point being, if the armor doesn't "look" cool then its doing something wrong regardless of how realistic it should be.  It is one of the few game things that is MORE immersion breaking to be realistic than not, within some frame of reason anyway.

BTW, what armor was she wearing?  Too busy being enthralled by the navel piercing.

@thafireball: I'm starting to worry that people are seeing the name now and taking this thread seriously. Wouldn't that just be the funniest thing ever? image

i've been doing some thinking too.   im thinking that she's LYING!   opting to get the size C cupped armor when she knows she's really a size A.   who does she think she's fooling?

I knew Dark Side was going to be over-powered. Not a single death on the Imperial side.

Have to disagree with the OP since he fails to specify what sorts of situations he's talking about.

I love discussions about realism in MMORPGs where characters are shooting elemental attacks form there finger tips, swimming in heavy armor, have mounts materialize from out of bags they were carrying and storing multiple mounts and armor sets in,flying and in SW:TOR's case fighting with deadly glow sticks.

I tried to warn them people would take it seriously after the name was changed. I really did. image

I think the only real problem here is that female toons in MMOs cannot be as cross-eyed as that chick.

I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.

Well it's not the title alone but the fact the OP has no body to his post now...kind of hard to tell if he's jsut being funny or this is yet another overly serious post on female armor or realism  in MMOs of which there have been many.

Skimpy armor works... picture running into a chick with heaving cleavage and you're both aiming at the other's head. Just taking your eyes off the gun in order to get a glimpse of it is going to get you killed. It's not like armor is gonna save anyone from some modern-day ordinances anyway, all you can do is wreck the enemy's reaction time.

Heavy Metal had it right 20 years ago, and nobody has bothered to implement anything like it. Female cops would be much better off in bullet-proof bustiers.

Originally the title was just Hot Girl and had that picture. It was the joking around in the first few posts that prompted him to jokingly change the name. It's not really upsetting to me if people take it seriously, as I think that is the funniest part of all of this. But boy is it funny to read.
