Only 2 magic classes?

in Final Fantasy XIV

This may be a deal breaker for me... I love playing magic classes.

So are there 2?  Or is the website not up to date?

 

One of my fav games ever was final fantasy tactics.... and I liked how there were a ton of magic classes.

    Its still in Alpha/Beta and only 2 have been revealed thus far!  There will be 5 by release...

    Ok cool.  I'm looking forward to this game because my g/f doesn't like pvp and she likes the way this game looks.

    5 Magic Classes, thats a new one for me.

     

     

    For a game releasing in less then 3 months there is not much known yet... 

    Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

    That is simply the way SE rolls. How much info do we have on FFXIII Versus? We didn't even have much on FFXIII before the JPN release.

     

    Rest assured though over the coming months and with the start of beta you'll be getting more information than you'll probably want.

    Yeah I can't wait to hear something...  I'm also iffy on a not-so-structured class system.. but if they have good magic classes I'll give it a try.

    FFXI only had two 'pure' casters at release (WHM and BLM; I consider the RDM more a hybrid caster) and a bunch of 'melee' classes.

    I sincerely doubt that any of those 'hidden' classes that have been leaked will be available to 'choose' at release.  Those will more than likely be unlockable classes to be discovered during game play.
