Brink blurs the lines between online and single player gameplay. Similar to Burnout Paradise, going online doesn't involve creating or joining a separate server from a multiplayer server list. Instead, you simply toggle online mode from within the game itself and the game seamlessly replaces AI-controlled characters with live ones.

The amount of character customization is good, not quite as good as APB or CoH, but definitely top-notch. There's multiple character classes, melee weapons, and Gunz-style acrobatics.

It's combat is 2-way Faction based, Security vs Resistance, very similar to APB.
I don't think there will be vehicles.
It's being released for PC, PS3, and XBox360 Spring 2011.

16 players is NOT an mmo-anything.

It is a simple singleplayer game with co-op and limited multiplayer, same as every other singleplayer game with multiplayer out there, unless you're going to call anything that goes online an mmo.

People are so determined to be the one to break the news of Bethesda's new mmo, they'll clutch at every straw in hopes they got it right.

It is interesting how those lines have gotten blurred in regard to what a MMO is.  This game offers as much of a persistent world as other games do, character development, and a game lobby where you can co-op (or AI pad) a group of 8 or can run the 16 person competitive angle.  With many games becoming little more than game lobbies themselves, how many games actually really give that "massively" feeling these days anyway when you get right down to it...

I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

If this is Bethesda's MMO, that will prove to be quite a chuckle.  I think the secret hope of many is that they'll produce a miracle sandbox and have it take the world by storm.

For that, we just have to wait and see.  If it is happening, there are no rumors that I've heard.
