Just cleared my HD of MMOs and games I plan to either never play again or I have the install disks and it will be a breeze to some far off, extremely remote, day in the future if I ever feel the desire to give them a spin again. Just removed the following MMORPGs for the purpose of this thread:

Aion
Age of Conan
Lego Universe
DDO
Planetside
PotBS
Darkfall Online

Teetering on removing WAR and the Dawntide Beta but I want to see how they grow in the next year.

Keeping, EQ, EQ2, SWG, LOTRO, WOW, Vanguard, Eve.

So how about you guys? What will you remove and/or keep?

I try to only keep one MMORPG on my hard drive at a time. If I still have an icon for it on my desktop and I'm playing something else I usually will take the time to remove it from my HD.

Ocassionally there are games I intend to go back to that just linger though. Kingdom Heroes might turn into one of those games. I love Romance of the 3 Kingdoms but have been too busy playing a non-MMO (Civ 4) again to play it lately.

If I'm not playing it, it is not installed.  If I feel the need to install something, even the huge games will be downloaded and installed while I'm sleeping.

I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

As a side note, the games I listed were games I had really wanted to like/grow into but for one reason or another they just flat out bombed or didn't grow over time the way I wanted them to especially Aion, DF and AoC.

Was really disappointed with how the Lego game is, too. Don't get me wrong, I can see it being popular but for me, it lacked a certain "pull" that only a few MMOs have truly give me, namely FFXI and WoW. I wonder which ones I'll remove once SWTOR and FFXIV and Rift come out. Although, technically I plan to utilize my PS3 for FFXIV so I can play that in nice 40 inch 1080p HD glory from the comfort of my couch.

Lego Universe? Thought that wasn't out yet.

Anyways, you sure keep a lot of MMOs on your computer. Considering most of them take up more space than regular games, that's impressive. I usually keep no more than three at one time (just LotRO and EVE now), and things feel cramped even then.

Uninstalled WoW, DAoC (have both of the boxes because back in the day CDs were the way to go), Champions Online (beta), APB (beta), Dawntide (beta... didn't last more than a day, sorry), City of Heroes/Villains, EQ2, AoC, WAR (keeping an eye on improvement and will return if Mythic revives the game... /crossfingers), and some others I can't remember.

Yeah, the Lego Universe open beta that was available this past weekend.

Space is the other reason I pulled em from my PC. Currently Downloading a ton of tv shows and movies and I'm running out of space lol. But the reason I kept em before, is I like to go back and try them after a year or so of content patches and I patch them through the year, if possible, so I don't have to do it on the day I feel like taking them for a spin again.

Nice list of reserves. Got a list myself, but I just pointed out the major must haves instead of possibilities. At some point or another, I like to try all MMORPGs at least once.

Good thing about some upcoming MMOs I can share space with my PS3, like DCUO, the Agency, and FFXIV.

thanks!  most of those i removed i was in that MMO limbo, didnt know what the hell i wanted to play.  I can't do console controllers anymore, but more power to people that can.  i'll prolly play DCUO for a few months before SWTOR comes out, but it''ll be hard pressed between that and Rifts.  I'll prolly go BP over JGE just because of the F2P for the flight sim fix, it'll be more of a hop on once and a while, not a full committment.  EQ Next....well  who knows when that will be out.  Space isn't really a problem thought got about 1 TB, just like as clean a PC as i can keep

    Currently on my hard drive....

    Age of Conan

    Allods (Beta client)

    City of Heroes/Villains

    Champions Online

    Lord of the Rings Online

    Dungeons and Dragons Online

    Fallen Earth

    Kung Foo! (beta client)

    LEGO Universe (beta client)

    Star Trek Online

    Runes of Magic

    Star Wars Galaxies

...Sheesh, that's a lot of MMO's. Not planning on removing any of them though. Space isn't really an issue (I have around 1 terabyte of hard drive dedicated to gaming stuff), and I'll be buying a new computer in a couple of weeks anyways. I'll be thinning out the list significantly once I make the move to my new computer though. Planning on keeping DDO, Lotro, STO and Fallen Earth on the computer. Will install others as needed.

If it was worth an install I usually keep it there but if I was to make a list of those that I would remove it would go as follows.

STO,EQ,EQ2,SWG,AOC,POTBS.  I probably have others I just missed but those are all games I'm fairly certain won't see my money again.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

Heh, I hear ya. I could list all the games I have installed and removed over the last 7 years....but it would make my brain hurt and I'd probably start bawling at some point. Games like STO and CO and ...oop, I better stop..already feeling a lump in my throat at what could have been great games that ultimately became travesties and insults to their IPs.

If you reinstall WoW from disks, you'll have to wait a real long time for all the patching.

    Currently, I have...

    AoC

    Guild Wars

    DDO

    Vanguard

    Runes of Magic

    Uru (Myst Online)

    Istaria (Horizons)

    Fallen Earth

    Dawntide Beta

Not even gonna start a list of what I've removed, reinstalled, re-removed......yeh.

Hmm.. Odd.. I did the EXACT same thing last night..

    Removed:

    Darkfall

    EVE

    Age of Conan

    Vanguard

    WoW

    Global Agenda

Only one left now is Aion (not my choice, it's the one I play with a bunch of RL friends and my wife, can't wait until we move on to XIV).

Looking for something new to fill my sandbox itch.. EVE is awesome, but in all it's awesomeness there is still something missing in it for me.. Dunno.. Maybe I'm too attached to avatars..

Looking into Fallen Earth, maybe Mortal Online, not sure.. Want a good sandbox, and none of them seem to really hit it for me.

I only play one at a time with a f2p MMO on the side to play with g/f when she feels like it. Both are on your removed list though...to each their own lol

The only game's on my PC as of now are The Sims 3 which I'm keeping, and EQ2, Entropia Universe and Runes of Magic. I'm trying to decide which of those 3 are going to stay on my com, since I only plan on keeping one. It's a tough choice though :(

    Playing - EVE, Wurm

Retired - Final Fantasy XI, Anarchy Online, Mabinogi

    Waiting - ArcheAge, Salem

Maybe be posting a reason why you are removing them would help this thread make more sense...

All I have is WoW and Lotro left on my desktop but I always plan to keep the original Guild Wars. The rest I tried  are all off my hd. I'm not worried about mmos because as soon as I get my new 360 I'll be going console games until The Old Republic.

i live in Australia and because our internet is so crap i tend to keep all of my MMO's somewhere on my HD's

I think so far the only MMO i have ever uninstalled was Atlantica Online and only because it is the kind of MMO i never ever want to play ever again (FF style turn based crap)

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
