Tera PVP?

StevieHmselfStevieHmself Member Posts: 134

Im just starting to learn about this game, and i am loving the whole "aim your attacks" and Non instanced parts of this game.

Personaly i play MMO's for top noch PVP action, and im wondering if this game will fill my needs. Open world conflict over recources is my ideal MMO PVP, player made cities, land control ect.

Playing EVE
Played Darkfall, Played Wow,

If you have been taking a look at the videos on the tube and such I'm sure you already know this is the pvp game for you. Although it is unclear at this time if there are player made (hopefully destructible) citites and things of that nature, it will be more or less FFA pvp where you align yourself with players of skill and sort out the rest.

I would lve to see player made cities so I could go in and terrorize the little popori beast bastards.

OP here is a link to some Tera pod cast via terafans.online:  http://www.terafans.com/forum/50-teracast/

In one of them a Dev talks a little about the pvp system.

PvE & PvP will be (balanced) more towards group play (3v3,5v5 and so on) and not towards 1v1 balance.

The political system will be tied into pvp (people can be voted into office but can be challenged via duels).  How this system will work, we don't know yet.

Duels are in and can be done anytime & anywhere. (teams can place bets on the outcome).

As of now we still don't know the full extent of the pvp system and how it will be set up for the different types of servers.

Tera continues to sound interesting with their pve and pvp, even with the repeat of information.  This and Rift are high on the watch list.

I just got this in my email.  Not sure if these were part of current faq, but maybe came from E3.

Q: What can you tell me about PvP rewards?

A: TERA will have a variety of rewards for PvP activities. For example, PvP is one way for players to achieve public office in the game's political system—literally killing your way into positions of power and prestige!

Q: What else can you tell us about PvP?

A: Battleground teams will be able to create a Commander—a leader who has access to special abilities that benefit the entire group. For example, the Commander may be able to call upon a high-damage spell that affects a large area—including his own group if they don't move out of the way!

Im in no way a fan of battleground, instanced, static, cage-match pvp.  Lets hope there is more open world availability with a progressively open environment toward meaningful freeform player interaction in addition to battlegrounds, but I found the Q&A interesting none-the-less.
